Show Signs Increase Toward Normal Steel Market NEW YORK, Jan. 28 - There are more signs this week that the steel' Industry is on its way to a normal market, asserts Iron Age, Iron and steel trades magazine. Scrap is more plentiful, pig Iron output is higher and the unusual pressure from customers is on the wane.. But this does . not mean 'that the "areat day" has arrived when the steel buyer can plage his order and get it in a few weeks, according to the magazine. The Dublication says further: "This week it looks as if steel consumers, while crying for more steel on one hand, are with the other taking close check on their supplies. None want to show up with heavy inventories if later in the year a "belt tightening" phase sets in. In all the welter of gossip, suesses. chartist statements and sales reports it appears th,at the steel business is reaching a plateau pla-teau in the unusual demand of the last few years and is poised for a market based on growth and re placements." Keith is a graduate of the Springville high school and is noted as . an outstanding out-standing basketball eager. He is at present a member of the USAC freshman s squad. He traveled to Springville with the Aggie team to meet .the BYU players Friday and Saturday. The Junior scouts of Mapleton held a party in honor of their scout master, Bruce Mendenhall. who will leave soon for an LDS mission field, this week. Four scout committeemen attended. Games were played and lunch was served to a large attending group. On Tuesday evening the third year Bee Hive girls, under the direction of their instructors, Myrtle Black and Lora Bird, presented pre-sented the play, "My Cousin From Sweden." Technique Shown For Correcting Leg Deformities CHICAGO, Jan. -28 (U.PJ A technique for correcting knock-knees knock-knees and bowlegs in children by driving steel staples into the bones was described today by an orthopaedic ortho-paedic surgeon. Dr. Walter P. Blount of Milwaukee Mil-waukee explained the technique at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Ortho-paedic Surgeons here. Navy Flying Boat Carries 150 On San Diego Trip SAN DIEGO, Jan. 28 (U.R) The Marshall Mars, the navy's giant flying boat, landed here at 12:31 p. m. (PST) Thursday carrying 150 military personnel on a flight from Alameda, Cal. The Eleventh naval district said the flight was a "routine transfer of personnel." The navy said the Mars was carrying one the largest -groups of persons ever to make a flight in a seaplane, but added that the flight was not made with the idea of getting any kind of a record. The world record is believed held by the German 12-engine flying boat box, which took off from Lake Constance, Switzerland, Switzer-land, in 1929 with 159 passengers and a crew'of 10. The Marshall Mars took off from Alameda, Cal., at 10:02 a. m. Israel Recognition Time Held Uncertain ' WASHINGTON, Jan. 28 (U.R) President Truman declined to say when the United States will grant full diplomatic recognition to Israel, Thursday. But the president indicated at his news conference that he still favored it. There were reports that Israel might be fully recognized this weekend when results of Tuesday's Tues-day's elections in Israel have been tabulated.
