ONE KILLED IN PLANT EXPLOSION ACTON, Mass., Feb. 27 U.r: One man was killed and another was burned seriously today when a black powder mill blew up at the American Cyanide & Chemi cal Corp. plant, shaking the coun tryside. Charles McKinnon, 45, of May- nard was killed. Matti Savolainen, 54, of Maynard, was burned. A prisoner in a Concord, N. C, jail wanted to get out becau.se he said he was "getting too much to tat." Saturday guests at the horns of Mr., and Mrs. Charles Warenski included Mr. and Mrs. Neils N. Peterson of Richfield. Sunday, guests were Mrs. Warenski's daughter. The evening eve-ning was spent playing parlor Fames after which a tasty lunch was served to twenty-eight. Miss LaRee Whitby of Alpine 'was a special guest. Following the lunch a number of the party motored to American Fork to attend the dance given in honor of the selective selec-tive service draftees from Amelia can Fork, Highland, and Alpine each of the boys was presented with a leather billfold by the American Legion. S. chain of naval air and submarine bases across the Pacific, President Presi-dent Roosevelt has proposed measures to Congress for improvement of present facilities and construction construc-tion of additional bases. While coming out of the creek on their way home Mr. Durfee's car slid off the road and turned over, breaking the rear glass. No one was injured. Mrs. Neph Greenland and two sons, Charles and Francis, visited here Monday, they have purchased the old Hobbs estate.
