Johnson, assisted by Mrs. Alma Boyden, entertained relatives and close friends at a shower Thursday afternoon at the Johnson home, honoring Miss Theo Morgan, bride-to-be. Vases of daffodils and carnations carna-tions were arranged about the rooms. Miss Maurine Moffitt read the play, "The Old Maid," after which a delicious" tray luncheon was served. A program cf music included a violin solo by Kay Hil-gendorff, Hil-gendorff, accompanied by Evelyn Hilgendorfr; clarinet solo, Harold Johnson; piano solo, Evelyn Hil-gendorff; Hil-gendorff; trio, Kay and Evelyn Hilgendorff, and Rayma Johnson; John-son; piano solo, Rayma Johnson. Fage, who will celebrate her eightieth birthday anniversary Tuesday, March 4, will be honored on that day at an "open house" being planned by her family. Thi informal affair will be held at the Fage home In Lindon, and all friends and relatives are cordially invited to call during the afternoon and evening. Mrs. Fage was born in Philadelphia, Phila-delphia, and crossed the plains with her mother and brothers and sisters in 1888. They joined their fetner in Salt Lake City and went direct to Lindon, where she has since made her home. She was Fage in 1SS3. in the old Endowment Endow-ment house, and he died in 1920. The well known matron has been active in church work, having hav-ing served as president of the Primary, counselor in the Relief society, Sunday school secretary, Relief society teacher and member mem-ber cf th? old folks' committee. Also, she is a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, and was a member of the old Pleasant Grove drama club. Sh? has six daughters and one son, who include: Mrs.; Martha Johnson, Pleasant Grove; Mrs. Laura Fox, Lehi; Mrs. Idella Walker and Mrs. Bertha Ash, Pleasant Grove; Miss Ruth Fage, Salt , Lake City, and Mrs. Viola Morton and George Fage, Pleasant Grove. Tl Fine Arts At Open Session The Edna Mae Hedquist home was the scene of an interesting open session of the Fine Arts club, Thursday afternoon, Mrs. J. Frank Earl being featured in the delightful delight-ful program. Hostesses included Mesdames Carl Swenson, Bertrand F. Harrison, Harri-son, Lynn C. Hayward, Oliver Dal-ton, Dal-ton, E. S. Groesbeck, Parley Christensen and Ralph Britsch. Words of welcome were expressed ex-pressed by Mrs. Lynn Hayward, president, and Mrs. Earl followed follow-ed with a splendid review of "The Prairie Years," (Life of Lincoln) by Carl Sanberg. Mjss Mary McGregor Mc-Gregor sang, accompanied by Miss Beulah Madsen, and Mrs. Dear-wyn Dear-wyn S. Sundwall played two vio lin selections, with Mrs. Ralph Britsch at the piano. Mrs. Louise B. Madsen also sang two numbers, num-bers, accompanied by Miss Ardith Jensen. Tasty refreshments were served. The guest list included Mesdames Mes-dames Virgil Bird, Wyman Wills,, Grant Ivins, Riley G. Dinner Given For Club Primrose club members were entertained Wednesday at the home of Mrs. Maude Roberts, an afternoon of sewing being followed follow-ed by dinner. St. Patrick decorations prevailed, prevail-ed, the rooms being decorated with greens and pussy willows. Novelty favors were given. Women At Fine Meet Miss deorgiana Johnson addressed ad-dressed the Provo High School Women, in session Thursday afternoon aft-ernoon at the Timpanogos school. Miss Johnson talked on "Art," discussing principally the new trend in art. She exhibited a number num-ber of new murals and other interesting in-teresting pictures. The Misses Elva Nelson and Beverly Boyes sang a duet, "Because," "Be-cause," accompanied by Mrs. Roy Slack, and solos were rendered by Miss Flora Adams . and Miss Boyes. Delicious . refreshments were served to 3(J members and three visitors. Mrs. Lee Buttle, president, was in charge, and the hostesses were Mrs. - Orvil Watts, Mrs. Bert Crane, Mrs. Wilmer Tanner, Mrs. John T. Taylor and Mrs, William Connell. Farewell For Utilities Head Employees of the Department of Utilities and their partners honored retiring Superintendent R. C. Adams and wife, at a farewell fare-well dancing party Thursday evening eve-ning at the Sixth ward hall. The delightful affair was attended by nearly 100 guests. The Adamses are leaving today for Des Mcines, Iowa, where they will reside. i In Dehalf of the employees, Jer-ald Jer-ald Bybee presented Mr. Adams with a handsome leather traveling travel-ing bag. Both Mr. and Mrs. Adams responded briefly. Hamilton Cal-der Cal-der introduced the new superintendent, superin-tendent, Raymond Coffey and his wife, and responses, followed. Add lukewarm water and sugar and set in warm . place until it becomes light and spongy (about 15 minutes). Combine Spry, salt, brown sugar, and rolled oats in large bowl and add boiling water. Stir until Spry is melted, then add cold water. Add yeast mixture Add flour gradually, mixing very thoroughly until a stiff douh is formed. Knead dough on floured board until smooth. Place irt bovfl greased with Spry. Brush dough with Spry, cover, and let rise in warm place until double in bulk (about 2 hours). ' Shape dough into ' loaves and place in bread pans greased with Spry. Let rise until double in bulk (about 1 hour). Bake in hot even (425 F.) 15 minutes, then reduce temperaturr to ;nodrrately hot oven (375 F.) and hake 30 minutes min-utes longer. Rc:r.ove fiom pans and brush cruets with Spr. Blake (Kathryn Sumsion) who were married in the Salt Lake temple Wednesday night by Pres. Stephen L. Chipman, a wedding supper was given later by Mr. and Mrs. Max Blake at their home In Salt Lake City. Mrs. Blake is a eister of the bride and the young men are cousins. Witnesses to the ceremony were the parents of the young couple, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Sumsion of Lake View, and Mr. and Mrs. S. H. Blake of Vineyard, also, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Gammon and Mrs. Harold Holdaway of Vineyard, Mr. nd.Mrs. Max Blake and Mr. and Mrs. Rex Blake of Salt Lake, Mrs. M. Crarnner of Springville, an aunt of the bride; Mrs. Lena Gammon, Mrs. Ellen Holdaway of Vineyard, and Paul Nichols, missionary mis-sionary companion of the groom. A large birthday cake centered the dining table, which was covered with a beautiful lace cloth. . Carnations and daffodils were employed in decorating.
