Other attendants 'to the wedding party were Lillian Lil-lian Gagon, Mrs. Danny Elchel-berger, Elchel-berger, Mrs. Terry Mendenhall and Lois, Clay son. Many lovely gifts were presented pre-sented to the couple from many friends. OREM An adult education class in advanced sewing and tailoring will begin on Monday evening at the Lincoln high school sewing room at 7:30 p. m. under the sponsorship of , the Sharon study group. Mrs. Marcella Skinner will be the instructor and all those in terested in enrolling in the class are requested to be present at the Monday night class. The class is a part of the adult education program of the Alpine school district and will run for a period of six weeks with one class being held each week. Popular Maid Soon to Wed ... Mrs. Agnes Beavers Dauwalder announces'the engagement of her daughter, Mary Ellen, to Milton Farrell Carter, son of Mrs. George H. Flynt and the late Robert H. Carter of Winston-Salem, N. C. According to the happy news released this Easter morning, the young couple will be married at St. Francis of Assist (Jatnouc church in Provo June 7. The popular- bride-elect is graduate of Brigham Young uni versity and has received her MS degree t New ' York university, recently returning to Provo from there. She has also attended the University of Mexico at Mexico City and the University of Southern South-ern California. At BYU she was affiliated with Nautilus social unit and Y Calcares. She has been a member of other organizations; including Phi Chi Theta. Mr. Carter attended Lenoir, Ryne college, Puke university school of .law and took his law degree at Wake Forest school tf law and has done post graduate work at New York university. He is listed in Who's Who in American Ameri-can Universities and Colleges, holding the ofice of president of the bar association. He is a member mem-ber of Gamma Eta Gamma and a member of North Carolina bar. He served with the army air force for over three years. Provonia Chapter At-Party The Provonia chapter of the Loyal Star auxiliary to the Railway Rail-way Carmen met at the Women's clubhouse Friday night. President Mrs. Glenn Edwards presided. A letter was received from Finland in reply to a CARE package sent there by the group. After the business meeting, the Railway. Carmen met with the ladies, a delicious lunch was served by the host and hostess, Mr. and Mrs. Griffith Nuttall, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hollerman, Mrs. Melvin Barrett and Mr. and Mrs. George Carter. BERRY Distinguished Guest To Be Greeted by BPW This Week Provo Business and Professional Women will be hostess this week to Lillian T. Majally, national associate director for the BPW, according to President Beatrice Brown. - Mrs. Majally will address the dinner meeting of BPW to be held Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m. at Silver S.tar cafe, according to Vonda Stewart, district chairman. A special guest of the evening will be Mrs. Lillian Lunt, state BPW president, of Cedar City. Mrs. Majally, formerly of Morgantown, West Virginia, Vir-ginia, has served as associate director of Field and Service on the executive staff of the National Na-tional Federation of Business and Professional Women's Clubs in New York City since January 1946. She brought to the work a first-hand knowledge of the federation's fed-eration's goals and objectives as they relate to the state federations federa-tions and local clubs. She served her own club as program coordinator coordi-nator and her state federation as radio chairman, international' relations re-lations chairman and was the second vice president and program pro-gram coordinator when she joined join-ed the national staff. In 1944 she was named to serve on the national na-tional legislative recommendations recommenda-tions committee, representing program pro-gram coordination, from which position she resigned when assuming as-suming her new duties. Her experience is wide and varied, including that of executive execu-tive secretary of. the Morgan county chamber of commerce, West Virginia, during the organization organi-zation and development of the West Virginia Foundation for Crippled Children and the Caca-pon Caca-pon state park. During the war years she served as executive secretary sec-retary for the Monongalia county office of civilian defense. As a volunteer in civilian defense she was unity program director and; was later appointed director of, the war servicedivlsion. She or-! ganized the block svstem. trained the block leaders and directed! the war service projects. She was awarded the United States war production board citation for meritorious service rendered in behalf of the national war salvage program. , Provo members are looking foe-ward foe-ward to the visit of this distinguished distin-guished guest who plans to visit 14 Utah clubs.
