Nimer of Orem. - The bridal party stood before setting of gladioli and white tapers in candelabra. Immediate members of the families were presents The bride was given in marriage by her father. Miss Karma Richardson was maid of honor, and the groom's brother Richard Nimer performed best man duties. For the ceremony, the bride wore a sown of eggshell satin with a fingtertip veil and carried a bouauet of pink rosebuds ana V: white gladioli. On either side of the cake were pink and white tapers. E. L. Terry rendered a solo accompanied by his daughter, Miss Sherry Terry, who also played the wedding mach. Miss Betty Shelley, sister of the bride and Betty Jean Nimer, sister of the groom, served. The bride is a graduate of Mt. Pleasant high school and also attended at-tended the L D S Business college. col-lege. She is affiliated with the Aloha Iota sorority. Mr. Nimer, after graduating from the Lincoln high school and .spending two years at the B Y U, entered the navy officer' reserve. He acquired his degree at the University of New Mexico, in Al buquerque and received his rank of ensign. He is a member 01 rm Kappa Phi and Sigma Tau fraternities. fra-ternities. The young couple have left for a short honeymoon in the southern south-ern parks, after which they will make a home in Salt Lake where the groom will enter the University Univer-sity of Utah for post-graduate work. - Club . Miss Janet Barclay, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Barclay, is now Mrs. John L. Peterson. Mr. and Mrs. William Barclay and Mrs. Louis Peterson, parents of the young couple honored them at reception held in the Joseph Smith ballroom Friday evening. The ballroom was attractively decorated with large baskets and vases of gladioli and other fall flowers. In the receiving line were Mrs. William Barclay, mother of the bride; Parlell Peterson, brother of the groom; Reid Peterson, .best man; the bride and groom; Mrs. Louise Peterson, mother of the groom; Mrs. Louise Carroll, mat ron of honor: Don Barclay, broth er of the bride and Mrs. Golda Roundy as bridesmaid. The bride wore a white ruf fled Japanese silk gown with fingertip vefl caught in a beaded coronet. She carried a bouquet of white double gladioli with a pink hue. The matron of honor wore brocaded bro-caded white with a black net skirt The bridesmaid wore pink georgette and an aster corsage. Mrs. Barclay was in black and Mrs. Peterson chose pale blue. All but Mrs. Roundy, the brides maid, who wore asters, wore cor sages of gladioli and roses. Lovely string music was played play-ed throughout the evening by Miss Joyce Wilson, Naomi Nel son and Miss Carroll Clark. L Parlell Peterson, master of ceremonies announced the following fol-lowing program: A trio consisting consist-ing of Mrs. Ted Calder, Mrs George Stratton and Mrs. Erk-man Erk-man Christensen rendered' musi cal numbers; Mrs. Christen Jensen read two selections; Miss Iris Taylor rendered a vocal solo; George Lewis gave a humorous reading; Carroll Clark a - piano solo and Mrs. Alene Peterson a vocal solo. The bride and groom cut ..the three tiered wedding cake topped top-ped with miniature bride and groom, and refreshments were served. Serving hostesses were Mrs. L. M. Morris of Pioche, Nev., Mrs Farrell Peterson of Cedar City, Mrs. Parlell Peterson and Miss Udora Hollingshead. Mrs. Reed Peterson was in charge of the gifts and boys helping help-ing her were Scott Barclay and Paul Carroll. The young couple are planning a short trip and will make a home in Orem upon their return They are are to commence their senior year at the Y this fall. Mr. Peterson was in the navy for three years. Slumber Party After Dance A dinner and watermelon bust preceded the slumber party given by Miss Joan Hawkins for her guests following the dance at the Dixon Junior high school Friday evening. A tasty breakfast was served Saturday morning to the follow ing: Miss Margie Seal, Miss Diane Hilgendorff, Miss Joyce Johnson, Miss Jean Nebeker, Miss Nedra Jensen and their hostess. Couple Speak Vows in Temple Mr. and Mrs. C. V. Hancock announce the marriage of their daughter Vonda Hancock, to Glen L. Sheen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Sheen. The nuptial vows were spoken in the Salt Lake temple September eleventh, with elder Harold B. Lee officiating. A reception honoring the young newly-weds was held in the First ward hall Friday evening, with more than 200 guests complimenting compliment-ing the couple. The bride was attractive in a brocaded white wedding gown featuring long pointed sleeves and a sweetheart neck. Her sectioned sec-tioned veil fell from a beaded coronet worn in her hair and she carried a bouquet of gardenias centered with a lavender orchid. The maid of honor, Miss Mer-line Mer-line Clayton, wore pale yellow net and carried a corsage of gladioli. gladi-oli. The matron of honor was dressed in peach taffeta carrying a similar corsage. Soft pastels became the three bridesmaids, Mrs. Ruth Hancock, Miss Ilia Mae Sheen and Mrs. Doyle Beard. The mothers of the newly-weds chose ngvy blue gowns and carried car-ried corsages of red roses. Tall flowers predominated throughout the display and entertaining en-tertaining rooms. A ahort pro gram was presented and dahchigj was enjoyed for the remainder of the evening. Ambition Realized By Sewaco Club Members of the Sewaco club posed for a group photograph Thursday evening when they met at the home of Mrs. Majorie Hinckley. The deversion for the evening was pinochle with Mrs. Fay Thomas winning high score and Mrs. Hope Peay playing a close second. Guests were allowed to fullfill an ambition almost everyone has, that of preparing one's own banana ban-ana split, for refreshments. October Date Is Set For Nuptials Planning a Salt Lake temple wedding for October 2, is Miss Laura Crandall, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carson Crandall, of Orem, who is to marry EUis Bilbao, Bil-bao, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Bilbao, also of Orem. A reception is planned for October 4' at the Tlmpanogos ward hall. The bride-to-be is a graduate of the Lincoln high school and LDS seminary. Mr. Bilbao is also a graduate of the Lincoln high school and LDS seminary later serving in the army air corps for three years. The young couple plan to take a short trip, returning to Orem where they will make a home. Young Couple Exchange Vows In this week's bridal parade was Miss Shirley Laurel Davis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell Davis, who exchanged vows with Richard M. Johnson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard M. Johnson Sr. of Springville, Saturday, September Sep-tember 14, in the First ward chapel. For the ceremony, which was solemnized by Bishop Frank T. Gardner, the bride chose a white eyelet embroidered gown with a finger tip veil of white net and organdy. She carried red roses and baby gardenias. The bride's sister. Miss Helen Davis, who was attired in pale cherry-rose crepe, was chosen for the maid of honor. Soft blues and pinks were the gowns of the bridesmaids, Mrs. Betty Dee Hansen, Miss Barbara Hoover and Mrs. Colin Dela- hunty. All carried old-fashioned nosegays. Mrs. Mitchell Davis, mother of the bride, wore gray with a corsage of cerise gladioli. Mother of the groom, Mrs. Johnson, John-son, wore a royal blue gown with a peach tinted gladioli corsage. The young bride was given in marriage by her uncle, Mr. Morris Mor-ris Davis. Mrs. Morris Davis re ceived guests. In charge of the serving room, was Mrs. Paul Miner of Springville, Spring-ville, and gift room, Mrs. Jessie Diamond and Miss Colleen Salisbury. Salis-bury. Verl E. The 200 guests enjoyed dancing and refreshments refresh-ments for the remainder of the evening.
