For "This Is Our Duty" Sponsored by the AMERICAN LEGION Over KOVO Oldsters Oppose Amendments To Welfare Act SALT LAKE CITY, April 6 (U.R) Proposed amendments to the public welfare act recommended recom-mended by Dr. A. C. Lambert were opposed today by Utah state old age pension and assist ance organization members. Conducting their annual meeting meet-ing here yesterday, the old age pensioners went on record opposing op-posing proposals to discontinue the present welfare board and set up a nou-paid, non-political board with a paid state director with public relief funds to be appropriated appropri-ated by the state legislature. The group pointed out that changing conditions would make it impossible to set a definite budget for the purpose. During the meeting, the oldsters old-sters re-elected incumbent officers of-ficers for another term.
