To Be Feted At Family Party MRS EUROPHIA LEFFLER KINGHORN Mrs. Europha Leffler King-horn, King-horn, well known here, will celebrate her eightieth birthday birth-day anniversary Monday and will be honored at a family gathering being given by her daughters this afternoon at the home of Mrs. Jennie Leffler Lef-fler Brown, in Spring ville. Mrs. Kinghorn was born in Salt Lake City, April 9, 1865, the daughter of Daniel' G. and Martha Brian. She is the mother of five children, four daughters living, as follows: fol-lows: (Mrs. Sadie Russon of Lehi, Mrs. Hazel Walker of American Fork, Mrs. Pearl Manton of Provo and Mrs. Jennie Brown of Springville. Her son, Lester Leffler, died several years ago. She has 19- grandchildren and 17 great- grandchildren. Mrs. Kinghorn has been an active worker in. the LDS church, holding many responsible positions but poor health the past year has prevented her from active duty. Her days have not been idle as she has done a great deal of knitting for the Red Cross. She is a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. Miss Strate, a former student of the Brigham Young university, and a member of the O. S. Trovata social unit, also attended the USAC at Logan, where she was pledged a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority. She is now em ployed at Eglin field, Florida. Sgt. Mercer attended the University Uni-versity of Pennsylvania, at Phila delphia, where he majored in physical education. He enlisted in the army air xorces in The couple have set the date of their marriage for April 15, the wedding to take place in the base chapel at Eglin field. VFW Women To Install Officers Arraneements for the installa tion of new officers were made at a meeting of the V. F. W. auxiliary, auxil-iary, held at the Veterans' Service Serv-ice center. Friday evening. An open meeting has been planned to be held Jointly with the -men of the post Friday at 7:30 o'clock at the I. O. O. F. hall. Rebekah Delegate To Grand Lodge Mrs. Bina Bates was chosen to be representative for the Provo Rebekah lodge at the grand lodge gathering to be held in-Salt Lake City during May, it was announced an-nounced today. Mrs. Benjamin F. Roper will be the alternate representative, the announcement said. The bride wore a white satin wedding dress with veil entrain. Her corsage was of orchids. Several parties have been given the past few days for the bride. Friday evening, a shower was tendered by friends in the Fourth ward Relief society room at which 70 guests attended. Preceding hen marriage, she was guest of honor at a party given by Fay Ferre at her home in Provo. Also Thursday evening, a group of friends entertained at a shower at the Averett home, The couple plan to spend a few days with relatives and friends at Altonah, and will then go to San Francisco, Calif., to make their home.
