A. Spear in Springdell. Provo canyon, Friday Fri-day afternoon. A 1:30 o'clock luncheon was served, the women being seated at one long table, pay with autumn aut-umn flowers. Mrs. C. E. Berry, president, in charge, and Mrs. Fred ledge cave the program for afternoon, a fine review book, "Kitty Foyle," by opher Morley. The serving committee included includ-ed Mrs. Earl "Thomas, Mrs. W. L, Smith, Mrs. Herman Grimm, Mrs. Henry Cease and Mrs. L. M. Beebe. Members in attendance were Mesdames P.obert Annand, Lawrence Law-rence Beebe, Owen P. Heninger, Arthur McCoy, XV. L. Smith, Henry Gease, J. J. Winter, Walter Adams, Thomas C. Gessford, J. XV. Aird, Edwin F. Irwin, C. E. Berry, M. A. Daughterly, George Larsen, E. D. Sutton, O. E. Thomas, Thom-as, Ira Cowan. V. Ft. Busterud, L. G. Baker, Fred Elledge, Herman Grimm, Agnes Whitecotton and J. M. Vick, and Miss Helen B. Thomas. Card Club Entertained Relief Society Flower Show An enjoyable time was spent by members of the Forget-Me-Not club at the home of Mrs. Fred Hansen Friday afternoon. Asters and roses beautifully decorate3 the rooms. Mrs. W. ; guest, and were Mrs. A. Johnston was a the members present Curley Brown, Mrs. Frank Walter, Mrs, Lloyd Winter, Mrs. June Buchanan, Mrs. Theron McFadden and Mrs. Martin Kim-ber. Kim-ber. High score prize went to Mrs. Johnston, Mrs. Walter won the second favor. and Mrs., Brown, the traveling. Luncheon preceded the :ard game. A Flower Show and Needlework Exhibit is being arranged by the Utah stake Relief society, and will be held Tuesday at 1 p. m. in the Pioneer ward amusement hall. Mrs. Katherine Saxey, Mrs. Vivian Taylor and Mrs. Rose Goates are in charge of the affair, af-fair, to which all women of Provo are cordially invited to attend. All wards of Utah stake will participate in the event, Mrs. Edith Y. Booth, stake Relief society so-ciety president, announces. Each ward will have charge of a booth and table, in which fancy work, quilts, etc., will be displayed, dis-played, and flowers exhibited . Commencing at 2:30 o'clock, a shart program will be held in the auditorium, including two one-act one-act plays: "Which Are You," to be presented by the Second ward, and "All In A Day," by the Pioneer Pio-neer ward. Musical numbers wl be furnished under the direction of Mrs. Edna P. Taylor, and a five-minute talk on "Membership and Magazine Work, will be given by Mrs. Booth. Municipal Section Prepares Program The municipal section of the Women's Council, will continue with their study of the South American countries during the coming club season, it is an nounced. The opening session was held at the home of Mrs. J. W. Aird Thursday afternoon, with Mrs. Clarence Harmon, chairman, in charge. Mrs. Aird gave a resume of last year's program, and the outline for the present season was presented. Colleen Harmon played piano selections. The next meeting meet-ing will be held the first Thursday Thurs-day in October. Several new members were present, and after the meeting, refreshments were served by the officers, Mrs. Harmon, Mrs. S. K. Boswell, Mrs. W. T. Hasler and Mrs. J. W. BYARU NTLSSON Wedding Date Set By Couple Mr. and Mrs. Leland S. Madsen announce the betrothal and approaching ap-proaching marriage of their daughter, Vivian, to Benjamin D. Bate3, son of Leonard Bates of Alpine. The nuptials will take place Sept. 13, at the bride's home, and a reception the same evening In the Alpine hall, will compliment the couple. After a short trip to the canyons in southern Utah, they will make their home in Provo. The bride-to-be is a graduate of the Provo high school and the Provo School of Beauty Culture, and is employed at the Dunford Beauty shop. Mr. Bates waji graduated from the American Fork high school, and is engaged in the trucking business. Acacia Club Commences A business meeting and social started out the new club season for Acacia club members, Friday evening at the home of Mrs. Theodore Theo-dore Taylor. Mrs. Frank Goold, president, was in charge. The program booklets were distributed and the program for the year, which is to be book reviews, was discussed.
