The marriage was solemnized in - Provo Wednesday morning. A party for Mrs. Chesnut was given that afternon by her mother moth-er at the home of an aunt, Mrs. . . Roy E. Park. The bride received many useful and lovely gifts. Mrs. Chesnut is a graduate of the Lincoln high school. The young couple will make their home in Escalante. Another shower honoring Mrs. LaVar Chesnut (Ruby Mecham) was given by her sister, Miss Dena Mecnam, Wednesday evening eve-ning at the home of Mrs. Ivan J Burr for girl friends. The Mouse was beautifully decorated in the holiday motif, with a lovely tree attractively trimmed with vari-colored lights and tinsel. The exchange of gifts was a feature of the evening. Hebertson, Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Walker, Mr. and Mrs. Fenton Prince, Mr. and Mrs. Barney Bigelow, Miss Gertrude Gert-rude Anderson, Miss Anne Lar son, Miss Hilma Beatty, Miss Mer-lene Mer-lene Gardiner, Miss Dorotha Jones, Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Anderson Ander-son of Lehi, Miss Venna Vernon and Leo Vernon. Miss Dorotha Jones assisted the Vernons with the entertainment Duffin who were married in the late autumn were given some beautiful gifts. Orem literary club members were entertained at a most attractive at-tractive Christmas party given by Mrs. V. Emil Hansen at her home Thurseday afternoon. A lighted tree and other decorations suggestive of the Yuletide added a restive note to the entertaining entertain-ing rooms. Christmas favors and a Christmas motif were carried out in the delicious luncheon which followed the program given as tollows: Community singing of Christmas songs conducted uy Mrs. J. D. Pyne with Mrs. Meloa : Calder . as accompanist; retold Christmas story, Mary Jean Skinner; Skin-ner; cornet duet, Gordon Hansen and Verl Jacobs with Ruth Hansen Han-sen accompanying them; a violin solo, MS3 Esther Hansen wuh Miss Ruth Hansen at the piano. Lovely gifts were exchanged. Mrs. Ivan J. Burr was a guest and the following members were present: Mrs. J. D. yne, Mrs. R. D. Wells, Mrs. Thomas Ja cobs, Mrs. Verde Washburn, Mrs. Mrs. Ada Skinner. Mr. and Mrs. Soulier at living at Alamogordo, New Mexico. Mrs. Alice B. Bird of Manti arrived ar-rived Friday to spend the holidays holi-days with her daughter, Mrs. Joseph E. Booth and ner family. There will be no Mutual held in either Sharon or Timpanogos ward Tuesday evening. Plans are being concentrated on the New Year's eve frolic and dance being sponsored by the M Men and Gleaner girl of the stake, and which will be given at the Lincoln high school gym New Year's eve. A program war carried out by the. different classes. Mignon Reese, Arlene ; Taylornd Marva Bish Johnson of the Bluebird Class gave- "The Dance of the Bells." The . Lark class sang while the Bluebird, class girls danced. Sylvan Zobeli and Alene Johnson furnished music for children to dance at which Santa Claus came and gave each child candy and nuts. On account of some sick ness at home, those children were also remembered by Santa. Heber Lee Davis, son of Mr and Mrs. Ara Davis had his ton sils and adnoids removed Wednes day at the Medical Arts building. He is doing splendidly. Calder, Mrs. Ada K SPANISH FORK Beginning Jan. 1. 1939 all bicycles used in Spanish Fork must be registered with uhe county recorder, according accord-ing to announcement made by Marshal Cooper Jex. This is done Mr. Jex explains to protect the owners of bicycles from thieves, who have been making the stealing steal-ing of bicycles in this county a racket. The charge for licensing and registering a bicycle will be 50 cents. This fee will pay for regis tering the name, serial number and make of the bicycle with the city recorder and the cost of a metal numbered plate, which is sealed on the back of the bi cycle, and cannot be removed without breaking the seal.
