The jolly old fellow brought presents for all and with C. A. Grant, county clerk, as master of ceremonies, a delightful program was enjoyed. Christmas greetings greet-ings were extended by R. J-Murdock J-Murdock of Provo, and Sylvan Clark of Lehi, members of the county commission, and Mayor Mark Anderson. Mrs. Jena V. Holland led in community singing of Christmas songs, also, she directed a variety of social mixers and dances. Refreshments Re-freshments were served to 200 men and women, Including several special guests- A huge tree and other Christmas motifs added much to the party. Mrs. Mary F.' Smith, city auditor, audit-or, was chairman on arrangements. arrange-ments. sjc sjc Happy Time at Christmas Dinner Vitea club members were tendered tend-ered one of the nicest of holiday parties, at the Edna Mae Hed-quist Hed-quist home Thursday evening. A delicious dinner was served, the lone table being centered with a Christmas village scene. Red tapers in Silver holders were on either side, and china dishes of candy were given as feyors. Monta Carlo Whist was played after dinner, Mrs. Fay Sorenson and Mrs. Mildred Taylor winning the favors. A gift exchange created much fun and merriment. Mrs. Lois Billings and Mrs. Anna Gray were in charge. Those present were: Mrs. Fay Sorenson, Mrs. Ethel Tregeagle. Mrs. Anna Gray, Mrs. Lot 3 Billings, Bill-ings, Mrs. Grace Fullmer, and Mrs. Ruth Schovile. Annual Club Yuletide Affair Entertaining at the Valley Tavern in Springville, members of the La Conda club enjoyed their annual holiday party Thursday Thurs-day evening. Mrs. Grant Thorne was guest and the following members were present: Mrs. Marion Halliday, Mrs. Reuel F. Jacobsen, Mrs. Darwin Dar-win Boardman, Mrs. Claude C. Cardall. Mrs. Percy Anderson Mrs. Eldores .Smith and Mrs-Burton Mrs-Burton Frampton of Provo, Mrs. - Ted Haymond, Mrs. Lowry Anderson, And-erson, Mrs. Paul Thorn, Mrs. Howard Maycock and Mrs. T. L. Callister of Springvlile. A delicious dinner was served, the table and entertaining rooms presenting a Yuletide scene with all sort of motifs of the season, including a large lighted tree. Favors were given also. Bridge was played ater dinner, Mrs. Percy Anderson winning the high score prize and Mrs. Darwin Boardman the second favor. Gifts were exchanged. Bowen of Burley, Idaho, to Wayne L. Bowen, son of Mr. and Mrs. William W. Bowen of this city, which was solemnized Thursday Thurs-day evening at the home of the bridegroom, with the immediate relatives of the two families in attendance. Prior to the ceremony, cere-mony, a lovely wedding dinner was served. The ceremony was performed by Bishop David B. Bowen, uncle of the bridegroom. The Christmas motif was carried out in the decorations and the bridal party stood in front of a beautifully decorated Christmas tree. The bride was gowned in a white satin dress and she wore a finger-tip veil caught up with lace and seed pearls. She carried a bouquet of American Beauty roses. Mrs. Beth Johnson was matron ma-tron of honor and wore peach color taffeta The m-ijds. Mr. Batty was employed in farming and stock raising, but for three years, just prior to moving to Provo. he operated a roc?rv and business in Charleston. Also, he was in the procery and feed business in Soldier Creek for some time. He was born in Wanship, Nov. 29, 1867, and Mrs. Batty was I boni in Lehii June 30, 1869. They Bowen, wore pale blue taffeta; Helen Creer wore peach color chiffon; Edna Peterson wore blue taffeta and Ha Clyde, peach color net. All the maids wore corsages of roses and sweet peas. Two little flower girls, Loa Bowen, sister of the bride, and Lenore Bowen, were attired in cerese and pale green taffeta respectively. re-spectively. Following the ceremony the wedding party went to the American Amer-ican Legion hall, where a reception recep-tion was given for 400 relatives and close friends from many Utah and Idaho points. E, Taylor of Provo, Pro-vo, Friday noon at the bride's home. The young couple was surrounded sur-rounded by 30 close family members mem-bers and friends as the ceremony was performed by Bishop George Raymond of Logan. Christmas decorations predominated, predom-inated, also, there were bowls of smilax and beautiful fern. Later, the party was tendered a wedding breakfast at the Bluebird Blue-bird in Logan, the table being centered with choice roses. A program pro-gram of toasts and music was furnished. The wedded pair and the Provo-ans Provo-ans returned here, and the couple will ;leave Monday for Eugene, Ore., where Mr. Goatea is attending attend-ing the University of Oregon. Fergusons Honored On Wedding Day The children of Mr. and Mrs. William Ferguson entertained in their honor Friday afternoon and evening at the family home in Edgemont. the occasion being their golden wedding anniversary. During the "afternoon and early evening many friends and relatives rela-tives called at the home, where social chat was enjoyed and dainty dain-ty refreshments served, a gold and white color scheme being carried out. Gold and white chrysanthemums chrysanthe-mums were used in the decorating decorat-ing and a beautiful three-tiered wedding cake centered the dining table. A large gold bell topped the cake, hanging gracefully from a gold arch. The cake was made and decorated by a daughter, Mrs. Dee Eastman. During the evening a family supper was enjoyed by the children chil-dren and grandchildren of the honor guests, all their children being present but Mrs. Mae Sil-cock Sil-cock or Burley, Idaho, who is ill at present. Those in attendance were Mr. and Mrs. Earl Ferguson of Provo, Mr. and Mrs. Vern Ferguson and family of Salt Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Olsen and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Ellingsworth and family fam-ily of Salt Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Dee Eastman and family of Olmsted. Olm-sted. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Ferguson hnd family, and Mrs. Ellis Wheeler and children of Salt Lake. A granddaughter, Mrs. Sylvia Greco of Burley, Idaho, and Mrs. Maud Eastman of Evanston, Wyo., and Mr. and Mrs. Mark Scott of Provo, were also present. Many useful and beautiful gifts were received by the honored couple. La Meftis Club At Yule Dinner The residence of Mrs. R. V. Bailey was the scene of a delightful de-lightful Christmas party Thursday Thurs-day evening, when she was hos-. tess to members of the La Meftis club. A tasty hot dinner was served, ser-ved, the table being covered with a dainty lace cloth and centered with a miniature silver sleigh and reindeer on a reflector. Red tapers tap-ers burned from crystal holders, and a beautiful crystal service was used. Candies and Santa Claus favors were given. The living room was cheery with a huge Christmas tree, from which gifts were distributed. Bridge followed, Mrs. Lamont Leavitt winning the high score prize and Mrs. G. O. Hancock the second favor. The guest award went to Mrs Dean Henriod. Members present were: Mrs. L. D. Fraughton, Mxs. F. L. Lid-diard, Lid-diard, Mrs. Lamont Leavitt, Mrs. C. W. Andrus, Mrs. J. S. Royal Neighbors Are Entertained Among the delightful parties of the Christmas season was the affair given by Mrs. W. E. Smith at her home on East Center street Friday afternoon, for the Royal Neighbors of America. Mrs. Alice Whiting was assisting hostess. A delicious turkey dinner was served at 2:30 o'clock the dining table and room being decorated in a silver and blue scheme. Favors and place cards were carried out in the same colors and there was a large tree in the living room. Mrs. Vera Nelson gave a reading, read-ing, a piano solo was played by lMrs. Alice Whiting and Christmas songs were sung by the group. Games were played and gifts were exchanged.
