Bates wish to announce the engagement of their daughter, Faye, to Maurice Gardner of Black fool, Idaho. The marriage will be solmenized on June 22 in the Salt Lake temple and the young couple will go to Idaho to reside. Mr. and Mrs. T. E. Loveless entertained en-tertained at their home Friday evening eve-ning in honor of their house guest, Miss Verda Seeley of Castle Dale. Refreshments were served and a general social evening was enjoyed. In attendance were Miss Vera Lundstrom of Provo, Willis Payne, Giltoert Peay, Miss Marguerite Peay, Miss Melva Hull. Miss Delia Trotter, Albert Hundson of Santa-quin, Santa-quin, Mr. and Mrs. Loveless and Miss Seeley. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Crook of Tonopah, Nevada are visiting here with their parents Mrs. Margaret Wilde and Mrs. Pauline Crook. James A. Garner announces the engagement of his daughter Loi-etta Loi-etta to Albeit Christensen of Spanish Span-ish Fork. The marriage will take place on June 18, and the young couple will reside at St. Juhn's, Utah. Miss Allean Jones, a June bride, was the guest of honor at a miscellaneous miscel-laneous shower last Thursday afternoon aft-ernoon given by her mother, Mrs. Charles Jones. The guests included includ-ed the older relatives and friends. In the evening a similar affair was held at the Jones home for the younger friends. The young bride received many lovely gifts. Miss Verda Seeley, who has been visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. T. E. Loveless for three weeks left on Sunday for her home at Castle Dale. Mr. and Mrs. Loveless, Mr. and Mrs. Major Loveless and Miss Melva Hull accompanied her and returning home they stopped at Helper where they were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Buvia. An interesting marriage of June was solemnized on Thursday in the Salt lake temple when Miss Mildred Mil-dred Curtis became the bride of A. C. Spackman of Logan. The young bride has attended school during the past two years at the Utah Agricultural college and previously pre-viously at the B.Y.U. Her parents. Dr. and Mrs. Asa L. Curtis accompanied accom-panied them through the temple. The young couple will reside in Logan. A bridal shower was given at the home of Mrs. Albeit Bowen Wednesday Wed-nesday afternoon in honor of Mrs. Art Mooney, formerly Miss Louise Black, a recent bride. The older relatives and friends were present and in the evening a younger group were entertained in honor of the bride. Games were played and luncheon was served. The numerous numer-ous gifts were very lovely. Mrs. Harold Person and children chil-dren of Garland are spending the week with Mr. and Mrs. John Pers-son Pers-son while her husband is training with the National Guard at Jordan Narrows. Mrs. Wendall Erlandson entertained enter-tained the members of her Contract Con-tract Bridge club Monday night. Mrs. M. Burdick and daughter, Blanche, spent Sunday in Salt Lake. Max Stewart, son of Dr. and Mrs. I. D. Stewart completed the two year course in medicine at the University of Utah with the close of school this week. He received his B. A. degree at Brigham Young university in 1931. Miss Lucille McMullin and Miss Edna Page went to Ogden last Friday Fri-day night to attend the Chi Oniega fraternity of the A. C., formal dancing party held at the Ogden country club. MAPLETON Mrs. Howard Tibbetts and small daughter Margaret of Lorenzo, Idaho, have been visiting for several sev-eral days with relatives and were house guests of Mrs. Tibbett's mother, Mrs. H. S. Whiting. They left Thursday for June conference in Salt Lake City which they will attend before returning home. Mr. and Mrs. James Wiscombe Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Wiscombe and Mrs. Rheumia Weight of Springville and Mrs. Peter Guy-man Guy-man of Provo were Salt Lake visitors Sunday. Announcement is made of the engagement of Miss Rae Cazier of Southern Utah, who has been visiting visit-ing for some time with her sister Mrs. Fay Llewellyn, to Howard Larson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wil-ford Wil-ford Larsen. The young couple expect ex-pect to be married soon. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Martindale announce the engagement of their daughter, Margaret, to Lewis Wing, son of Mr. and Ms. H. B. W ing, the marriage to be an event of the near future. Mrs. Kate Richards and childr en of Heiner, Utah, are visiting in Mapleton with Mrs. H. S. Whiting. Miss Cora Fuller of Columbia is visiting with relatives for a few days . before resuming her nuisic studies in Salt Lake.
