Again Home Economics Group Elects SALT LAKE CITY, April 28 (U R) Tv.-o convict trusties who escaped under gunfire yesterday from the Utah state prison farm were in solitary confinement today to-day after 49 minutes of freedom. The pair, Fred Madison Rivers, 22, and Ed Ramshaw, 28, were captured as they crouched in shrubbery surrounding the Hyrum Hy-rum Jensen residence near the prison. They offered no resistance when police officers and prison guards commanded them to surrender. sur-render. Rivers is serving five years to life for attempted robbery and Ramshaw one to 10 years for grand larceny. Guards fired at the pair as they saw them run from the farm. Ramshaw later told prison officials offi-cials "I heard a bullet whine so close to my head that I thought I was hit." Meanwhile, Warden Owen Neb-eker Neb-eker announced that a prison excavation ex-cavation crew had uncovered a smuggling cache near the east end of the prison farm, which had ap-1 parently been used to send liquor and marihuana to convicts. I This method does not in the least detract from the flavor or food value of the fruit. When buying bananas select plump, full-grown fruit, the skins rich red or yellow dotted with brown. A full, plump banana indicates that the fruit was allowed to mature' longer before picking and it therefore has a more mellow flavor. Avoid bruised fruit or fruit that has a dark, discolored dis-colored skin with soft, mushy flesh or moldy spots on the skins. Bananas which have been frosted have darkish skins and less flavor. fla-vor. This fruit is high in food value and comparatively inexpensive inexpen-sive all year round.
