J. Hart an nounced. The latest group of entries to pour into the Y" athletic department de-partment included schools from Idaho, increasing the " number of states entered thus far to five. Colorado, Nevada, Wyoming and Utah were already represented. Never before have entries poured pour-ed in so rapidly, which indicates that this year's carnival will break all past records for participation. partici-pation. It is 'predicted that between be-tween 150 and 180 schools, including in-cluding junior colleges, FL M. C. freshmen, high school, and junior jun-ior high schools, will enter the meet. Posture Parade Director Hart said today that plans for the gala posture parade par-ade are being formulated this week, and that invitations will be sent out to scores of schools immediately. Miss Wilma Jepp-son Jepp-son is in charge of the posture parade. The invitational meet will emphasize em-phasize mass participation more than ever before, according to Director Hart. No big-time track stars are being solfcited this year, which means that the meet will concentrate solely upon its original purpose to provide competition com-petition for masses of young athletes, stressing individual rather rath-er than team records. Girls Participate Participation for girls as well as for men will be featured. High school and junior high girls competition will be held April 23, while the high school, junior college, and R. M. C. freshmen will hold their meets the following fol-lowing day. Tennis tournaments and danc ing contests are side attractions creating: considerable interest. CROSS COUNTRY RACE PLANNED A large field of marathon runners run-ners will enter the annual B. Y.-U. Y.-U. spring cross-country run March 26, according to Coach C. J. Hart. Although official entries have not been made yet, a dozen varsity var-sity and freshmen tracksters have signified intentions of join- ine- in the rare ocial units of the school are expected to be represented heavily, since points won in this race count towards the trophie awarded annually to the unit amassing the greatest number of points in intramural competion during the year. Four awards will be made to winners of the spring cross-country race. The first man across the line will receive a Block 'Y' sweater, provided he has not won a sweater in the race before. Three other awards will be made, gold, silver, and bronbe medals going to second, third, and fourth place winners. Prospective entrants are as follows: fol-lows: Max Andrews, Mennel Taylor. Tay-lor. Braddock, his Manager Jim CZm l H XfgrliQnn QniiQra HarHpn and the New York State Boxing commission turned thumbs down on Max's proposition. Champion Jimmy, busy absorbing absorb-ing the Florida sun, just couldn't be bother by anything as trifling trif-ling as a quarter-million. "All I'm interested in is retaining my title. I'd rather fight Dmiis in Chicago anyway. Gould was scornful of the offer. "Let 'em boost it to $400,000 change the agreement to an 'American referee' instead of one" 'mutually agreed upon," satisfy the claims of Madison Square Garden, and Mike Jacobs, then maybe we'll talk business after the Louis fight in Chicago," he said. "Why should we take about a quarter-million when we already have a half-million guarantee? The American film and radio rights that Schmeling offers us may be worth $150,000 but he'll have to peddle 'em." Used Cars! Italy, March 11 (UP) Gabriele D'Annunzio, soldier, poet and great lover, is toying with the idea of plunging to death in an airplane laden with bombs instead of dissolving himself him-self in chemicals to avoid dying unpoetically in bed, his friends said today. Some of the friends, in turn, toyed with the fear that D'Annunzio D'An-nunzio might select as the occasion occas-ion for his proposed grand exit tomorrow, his 74th birthday. One of his chief pleasures now is to pour brandy into his bath water.
