Elliott, manager of the Provo office of-fice of the corporation. , Such applications must be strictly strict-ly confined to homeowners who are clearly in distress and threatened threat-ened with foreclosure. The most important feature of the amending act, passed by congress con-gress and signed by the president Was the increasing of the authorized author-ized bond issue of the HOLC from $3,000,000,000 to $4,750,000,000 in order to provide for applications already filed and for new applications applica-tions which must be filed before Jiine 27 as stated above. Other amendments in the new act provides penalties for misrepresentation, mis-representation, prohibits persons engaged in lending money on real estate .from working for the HOLC, etc. The loans made by the HOLC should not be confused with the Federal Housing administration loans.
