Newfield Production Company (Newfield) intends to convert the Federal No. 13-6-9-18 to a Class II enhanced recovery injection well for enhanced oil recovery operations. No drinking water wells are present within one-quarter (14) mile of the Federal No. 13-6-9-18. The approved injection zone is within the Green River Formation, from 3700 feet to the top of the Wasatch . Formation at approximately 5985 feet, primarily the Garden Gulch, Douglas Creek and Basal Carbonate Jrtejotwr&fiTte injectatej will be a -Wend of Water? from the Johnson Water District reservoir and produced pro-duced Green River water from oil wells proximate to the Federal No. 13-6-9-18. Within 180 days after beginning injection, the Permittee is required to conduct a Part II (External) Mechanical Integrity Test to confirm that the injectate will remain within the authorized autho-rized injection interval. A Draft Permit or modification modi-fication has been prepared in accordance with provisions provi-sions of the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) as amended (42 USC et seq) and other lawful standards and regulations. The EPA has made a preliminary determination that all underground sources of drinking water will be protected. The Permit is issued for the life of the well unless modified or terminated. This Permit or modification, modifi-cation, once issued, will authorize the construction and operation of a new injection well or wells. Operation of the well(s) will be governed by the requirements and conditions con-ditions specified in the Permit or modification. PUBLIC COMMENTS The requirements and conditions of the Draft Permit or modification are tentative, and are open to comment from any interested party.
