Marshall, an All-American, won doubles and singles championships. He was on bark for 198 out of 200 to win she doubles on June 8. Tim Robb, Arizona, and John Adams, Washington - not the second USA President - tied at 100 out of 100. Robb shot down Adams by hitting 24 out of 25 in a shoot off to win the handicap championship. Adams won the long yardage crown. Other winners were: mid-yardage, mid-yardage, Jeff Pasquetti, California, Califor-nia, 98; short yardage, Howard Johnson, Utah, 97; junior, Hayden Johnson, Utah, 97, (Howard is his uncle); sub junior, Jory Anderson, Utah, 96; lady, Desiree Dursteler, 95; veteran, Joe Roach, Utah, 99; senior veteran, Marvin Sims, 91. Ricky Marshall from Nebraska was the overall champion by hitting 692 out of 700. Steinaker, Red Fleet host bass fishing tournament Steinaker will host the American Ameri-can Bass Fishing Tournament on Saturday. On Sunday the tournament tour-nament will move to Red Fleet. The tournament is expecting 20 competitors and a payout will be given to the winner. The entry fee is $70. This is one of the Colorado Western Division qualifying events. Fishing will begin at 6:00 am. Free Fishing day at Jones Hole National Fish Hatchery On June 30, the hatchery clarification pond at Jones Hole Fish Hatchery will be opened for free fishing from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for children age 12 and under. Each child will be allowed to catch two trout from the pond. Children must bring their own fishing tackle and rod. Artificial flies, lures, spinners and bait will be permitted during the special event. Hatchery staff will be on hand to oversee the event. But at least one adult or parent must still accompany all children. Jones Holes is located about 45 minutes north of Vernal on Diamond Mountain Road and is the largest federal fish hatchery in Utah. It raises and stocks rainbow, brown and brook trout in numerous lakes and rivers in Utah and Wyoming. Jenks family sponsors race U The Jenks family will sponsor an endurance relay horse race in honor of Marvin and Jessie Jenks. The race will be June 24. The entry is $150 and will start in Ouray. The first place winner will receive $1,000. The race is bareback only and will take two horses. It is a 20-mile race and the riders will switch horses at the 10-mile mark. The race will end in Fort Duchesne. The race is open to anyone 20 years or older. Jolene Jenks commented that they decided on the race because they wanted something different to honor their parents. "We've never had a race. My father was into horses and raising them. So we decided a race would be a great way to honor them." explained Jenks. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and racers will start lining up at 9 am.
