Show Vernal Express s 1 (Muaries Robert Corbin Robert Corbin, 5a, of Daracgo, Colo, and Vernal, passed away Dec 24, 2006, He was born Dec 28, 1960 in Roosevelt, Utah. He is father to Kimberty (Grey) Sanchez (Denver) and Brian Corbin (Denverfcwn to Franklin Blaine and Deloris Corbin, brother to Steve (Christe) Corbin (Salt Lake City) and Mike (Joel) Corbin; grandfather to EmOy and AHy, (Denver); ancle to tiro nephews and five nieces; great-ancle to one nephew. Bob loved homing, fishing, golf and being with his family. fam-ily. He will be remembered for his beautiful bine eyes, smile, laugh, sense of hmnor and will be missed by everyone who knew him. Coda Jaden McKowen Oar precious little baby boy, Coda Jaden McKowen, returned to the loving arms of his Heavenly Father and Jesus on Friday, Jan. 5, 2007. Coda, we will forever hold you in our hearts and can't wait to have you with us again one day. Coda was preceded in death by his sister, Mar Ray Lanette McKowen, and a cousin Jestin Marie Wallace, and many of his grandparents. Funeral services were held Friday, Dec 29, 2006 at Thomson Blackburn Vernal Mortuary. Interment was in the Maeser Cemetery. He is survived by bis sister, MaKalynn LauraAnn and parents par-ents Cody and Marcy; grandparents, grand-parents, Glade and VaLinn ABred, Sandy McKowen, James and Teresa McKowen; great-grandparents great-grandparents Vard and Deon Openshaw, Charles AUred, Donna McKowen; many uncles and aunts and cousins. Kay married Shirley Irene Scott May 25, 1351 in Elko, Nev. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake IDS Temple. ShMey passed away Jan. 31, 1995. Kay then married DeVona Cook Irwin May 8, 19S6 in Vernal, Utah. Kay served in the US. Army from 1951 to 1SS1 He was a member of the American Legion for many years. Kay became very ill with emphysema and heart problems. prob-lems. He spent many days and nights in the hospital with DeVona at his side. DeVona said he was the first and last love of her life. Kay is survived by two daughters. Sherry (Darris) Kendall, Linda (Chuck DeCrow) Timothy; a stepdaughter, Vera Jean Corless Vera Jean Corless of Vernal passed away Dec. 23, 2006 in VernaL Vera was born in London, England Nov. 8, 1926 to Samuel and Alice Lloyd Michaels. She married Howard Corless in 1949 in VernaL Vera will be missed by all her many friends. She loved knitting and made slippers for everyone she met, made numerous numer-ous afghans and baby blankets for AVMC and dish cloths for anyone that wanted one. She was a waitress and homemaker. Loved by all, we will miss you, but you will always be in our hearts. May God bless and keep you in His embrace. Mildred was born April 13, 1929 in Jackson County, Fla. to Johnson Baker and Dovie Lee Rooks. Mildred graduated from Marianna High School in Marianna, Fla. She married Arthur (Hat) Sims Feb. 14, 1947 in Donsonville, Ga. They had a son, John Robert, and later moved to Rangely, Colo, in February of 1952. Their daughter, Suzanne Marie, was born in Rangely. The family fam-ily was sealed together at the Manti Temple in Manti, Utah on June 17, 1961. Mildred began her college studies while both children were in school and her husband hus-band was working in the oil fields. She attended Rangely Junior College and transferred to Brigham Young University in Provo. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1969. She taught home Economics at the Rangely High School until her retirement retire-ment in June of 1989. Mildred loved working with the youth and traveled with "her girls" to the many FHA functions throughout the state. She also had a passion for fishing. This fishing passion ' letfcto serious injuries to both ' ankles, which severely limited her mobility. She also enjoyed music and especially singing. Another favorite pastime was watching wildlife. She enjoyed watching the deer, beavers, muskrats, ducks and geese along the river while sitting patiently waiting for that big ; catfish to take her line. " Mildred fell and shattered her left leg in May of 2006 and was in the hospital until her ; death on Jan. 2, 2007. Mildred is survived by a: son, John Robert and his wife 1 Teresa of Rangely, Colo.; a ' daughter Suzanne Marie and her husband Gordon Belyea of Nepean, Ontario, Canada; ' grandchildren Kelly Jo Sims, Sarah Belyea, Leslie Belyea, Joshua Belyea, and Matthew ' Belyea; a great-grandaugh-ter Hailey Belyea; a brother ! Darrel Howard of Vernal; ' and a sister Frances Green of Rangely, Colo. ; Mildred was preceded in death by both parents; her husband of 51 years, Arthur, a brother Bobby; and sisters ' Glennis and Celestia. Funeral services will be held in the Rangely Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of ' Latter-day Saints on Jan. 8,' 2007. Viewing will begin at 1 j p.m. and funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Interment will be in the Rangely Cemetery ' under the direction of the Thomson-Blackburn Vernal Mortuary. Mary Cook Mary Cook of Maybell died ' Friday, Jan. 5, at the Sandrock Ridge Care and Rehabilitation ; Center. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. H. ' at the Craig Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The family will receive-friends receive-friends at the Church from 10 a.m. until service time on Thursday.
