Utah State University has benefited by having a partnership partner-ship with the BLM, which supports sup-ports students and faculty in their mission to address the conservation needs of the people peo-ple of Utah. Student interns are able to gain field experience with a natural resource management man-agement agency. This program allows students stu-dents to apply their classroom learning in real-world management manage-ment scenarios with the BLM throughout northeastern Utah. Some examples of these experiences experi-ences are doing a duck census at Pariette Wetlands, rebuilding Canada goose nest platforms, monitoring the success of the black-footed ferret reintroduc-tion, reintroduc-tion, and counting mule deer in Brown's Park. Internships also provide wages that help support students stu-dents with families, an important impor-tant consideration for students at USU-UBRC. A major indicator indica-tor of the success of this program pro-gram is that the Vernal Office of the BLM has hired many of the graduates from the university univer-sity to work as natural resource professionals. references to 751 West Hwy. 40.
