Pick the tie breaker by writing what you think will be the final score of the tie breaker game. The tie breaker will count as a correct or incorrect pick during the initial scoring. Then, if needed the scores of the tie breaker will be used to break the ties as outlined in (6 and 17 below. 3. All entries must be turned into the Recreation Office or the Vernal Express office by 5:00 p.m. the Friday before the week's games or postmarked by Friday and received in the regular mail no later than Monday. Five weekly winners will be awarded each week. Additional prizes may be awarded when available. Sponsors reserve the right to substitute prizes if needed. The Vernal PeeWee Raptor Hockey team met Davis County Youth Hockey team, the Wind, on Vernal's home ice Saturday. In the first game, the Wind scored three goals in the first period and Vernal was shut out until the second period when Justin McDonald came through with an unassisted goal. The Wind answered with three more goals to put Vernal down 4-1. In the third period, Vernal came alive. Ty Mull scored in the lower corner on a power play. At a tough skirmish on the net, Jarrett Urban put in a goal, assisted by Duel Hacking and McDonald. The third goal was made by Brenton Stewart on another power play with only 25 seconds to go. He was assisted by Easton Murray. The Wind dominated with a final score of 6-4. The Raptors came back in game two against Davis County, in possibly the most exciting game of the season. The puck was blocked and Jarrett Urban put in the goal on the rebound. Davis Wind worked the zone long and hard to put in a score. Davis evened the score in the third period with a goal of their own. The game appeared to be a draw as there was no let up in action from either side. The fans at the game from the beginning were rewarded when Brenton Stewart, after serving serv-ing a 12-minute penalty, came out for the last 24 seconds and in the final second, as whistle blew to end the game, stuffed in a goal, assisted by Urban and Mull. The final score was 4-3, in favor of the hometown Raptors. Wayne Simper and Dwayne Richardson coached the game. Other players were Dakota Hall, Beau Polya, Dakota Blackburn, Jarrick Owens, McKenzie Smiun, JC Parslow, Kayla Richardson, Pua Rasmussen, Chad Whitmire, Bowdie Stubbs, Denim Simper and Dustin Holmes.
