Kimberly Snow competed in Extemporaneous Public Speaking and placed in the top five. Each contestant draws three agriculture-related agriculture-related topics and chooses one to talk about. They are then given 30 minutes to prepare a six to eight-minute eight-minute speech on their topic. They are also asked questions by a panel of judges. Marlynn Chew, I.orie Chivers, Kamrie Ford, Alexis Faucett. Adam Goodrich, Kim Snow and John Gillman competed in Parliamentary Procedure and took third place. They had technically won the contest con-test but they were penalized 50 points for going four seconds over time, which moved them to third place. The event is very challenging and time-consuming. A president, a secretary and four other floor members mem-bers have to present a meeting using parliamentary procedure. They have to know Robert s Rules of Order, and they give a demonstra tion before some judges, are asked verbal questions and have to take a written test. Matt Paquette, Marlynn Chew, Adam Goodrich, Alexis Faucett, Devin Cook and Heather Cooper all received their State FFA degrees. This is the second highest degree that can be earned in FFA. It is earned by less that 3 percent of all F FA members. IMS FFA also received a Superior Chapter Rating and a Five Star Chapter Award, which was given to only seven of Utah's 64 FFA chapters.
