The fashions modeled included shorts with matching tops, skirts, capri pants, lots of matching bandannas, boxers, pajamas and ankle length skirls and dresses. The talent portion of the program was as varied as the fashion portion. The first talent presentation was a dance by Mickala Merrell, Sasha Merrell and Mindy Hunting. The girls dressed in camouflage and did a jazz style iLncc to the song "Survivor." Bart Angus performed a piano solo, playing "Malapuana" and later Torrie Austin's piano solo was The Man in the Moon." The Kaleidosaipe Team from the High Uintah Qogggers, Kyndi Kay, Chelsey Cook and Andria Reynolds performed a high stepping, energetic A Cappella number. Vocal solos were performed by Rachel Piphcr singing "Someone to Watch Over Me," Samantha Snodgrass singing "Who I Am," Whitney Angus singing "Lucky," and Katy Snodgrass singing "Amazing Grace," A Cappella. Blue ribbon winners in the talent competition were Bart Angus, Rachel Pipher, Kaleitkscope Cloggers and Katy Snodgrass. AVMC provides service at Triathlon Bright and early on Saturday morning. morn-ing. August 1 1 , Ashley Valley Medical Center's physical therapy department was busy setting up tents filled with medical supplies. By 7 a.m., they were ready for any emergency that might occur during the running of the annual Dinosaur Triathlon. The hospital has provided supplies and personnel to the Triathlon for the past several years. Orlando Heaton, director of Physical Therapy at AVMC, w as in charge of the First Aid Center. "We try to provide the whole Winners selected at Museum Quilt Show Jeri Helco won the People' Choice Aw ard for her quilt tided "Colorwash Heart" in the Western Park Heritage Museum Quilt Show. Helco said she made the quilt for Troy and Annette Meier's new home. Museum Director Jams Bigelow said all visitors to the museum were given the opportunity to vote for their favorite quilt for the Peoples Choice Award, be they local visitors or tourists. She added that approximately 100 people per day have visited the museum during the show so a large number of ballots were cast during the week of voting. More than 40 quilts competed for the award. Thirteen quilts were entered into the Challenge Quilt portion of the show. Members of Quilters on the Edge Quilt Guild drew a color out of a hat and made quilts mat were 73 percent of any shade or tint of that color. Dee Dee Johnson won the Best Workmanship Award for "Crimson in Clover" and Ruth Ross won the Best Design Award for "Pastel Orange." Carotene Gardiner won the Best "Challenge" Rules Award for "Spinning Hatchets," which was done in shades of purple. The show was jointly sponsored by the museum and the Quilters on the Edge Quilt Guild. All quilters were welcome to enter the show but only Guild members were allowed to compete com-pete for the awards. The next show at the museum will be the Associated Artists of Utah from the Wasatch Front, starting August 16 and ending Sept 21.
