John Leo Warden and Brinlee Anderson were the 1st Attendants and Kelton Dimick and Katrina Yound were the 2nd Attendants. 20-23 Months; King, Tarry Don White and Queen, Camilla Jade Hall along w ith Cody Santee Warby and Whitney McNamara as 1st attendants and Chandler Jorgensen and Harlee Michelle Brown as 2nd Attendants. 24-27 Months; King, Pierce Goodwin and Queen Abigal Hartle. 1st Attendants were Nicholas Henline and Oaklee Trogstad accompanied by 2nd Attendants Braden Smith and Sienna Gonzales. The final age category was 32-36 Months and it was won by Kody Wagner as King and Lacey Hamson as Queen. 1st Attendants, Kayden Slaugh and Kassidy Montgomery along with Alex Sprouse as 2nd Attendant finished the Uintah County Fair Baby Show 2000. "We didn't hav e much of a turn out of the small animals this year," said Hamson. "It seems that many of small animals entered into the fair has to be taken care of by the owners and they didn't want to bother." Too bad too, what's a fair without the animals. All exhibits were open to the public on Thursday, the mechanical bull, the 25 ft. Wall Climb, the airplane ride and the rubber rub-ber slide. Mike Pugh with the Outlaw Riders Association, (ORA) operator of the mechanical bull told those brave hearts hopping on the bull, to" keep a tight, firm grip on the rope, hold on with your legs, lean back and keep the other hand up for balance." Pugh said the bull instills positive bull riding habits and gives the rider some confidence. con-fidence. He said the bull has really gained in popularity at fairs, carnivals and all sorts of events. The wall climb was also a popular game. Craig Dawson, owner and operator said the climb is geared to help people get over their fear of heights and get a real sense of accomplishment. The custom car show was held at the Colton Pavilion, and the first annual "Strutt your Mutt" dog show was won by a huge malamute. All these plus the llama race, a magician, "Riders in the Sky " performance, per-formance, a Dutch oven demonstration, pie, ice cream and chili contest and lastly the Demolition Derby, which was won by Amanda Harrison in car number 1 69 made the 2000 Uintah County Fair a fair to remember. w :tV V I i - 1 v,--v v ... . . . August 20 The Uintah Basin Shrine Club will hold a puppet production of Dinosaur Dance by Master Puppeteer Penelope Torribio, fun songs on serious subjects such as drugs, anti-violence, ecology and relationships. The puppet show will be held twice, once at 1 p.m. and again at 2:30 p.m. at the Colton Pavilion. August 22 Learn skills to conquer the fear of public speaking or improve speaking skills with Uintah Basin's own Toastmaster's Club. "Talk of the Town."
