Election of officers for the fiscal year resulted in president, John Carter, vice president, Walt Fread; secretary treasurer, Alice White; wagonmaster, Robert Zeller. News from Whiteroclcs by Virginia' Ferguson Oberhansly family reunion in Yellowstone Tammy Kelly, with her twin babies, ba-bies, and daughter, Shalese, 6, along with Tammy's mother-in-law, Lee Nielsen, drove to Clear Lake, Calif., where they visited with Lee's parents. From there. Tammy and Lee drove on to San Francisco, for a two-day visit with Tammy's sister, Laura Haslem. The Duane and Bernard Oberhansly family reunion was held from Thursday to Sunday, August 5th to the 8th, at their cabin in Yellowstone. The 35 family members brought trailers and tents in which to stay, and some stayed in the cabin. They fished, hiked, and played games. A highlight of the reunion was when they all gathered each evening' around the campfire and told stories. The family came from Las Vegas, Nev., Roosevelt, and Salt Lake City. They plan to make this an annual occasion. Don and Ednal Simmons drove to Salt Lake to see the doctor, last week, for a check up and tests. Josette Moosman, of Oregon, daughter of John and LaRae Moosman. was a weekend visitor with her parents. 1 Babies compete in county fair show From ages one to 36 months, babies ba-bies from all over the county were entered into the baby show. The contest was held on Wednesday, August II, at the Vernal Middle School. There were nine age groups and a limit of 20 babies per category catego-ry per gender. The baby show committee of II women began meeting once a month in April. "You can't just throw a baby show together. It takes a lot of planning," stated Becky Valdez. Planning for 184 registered babies and being on a low budget this year, the planning committee spent a lot of time and effort. A panel of judges was chosen for the boys and a seperate one for the girls, and a seperate panel of special spe-cial judges to pick "the chubbiest cheeks," "the most shy," etc. All judges were from out of town. They gave points on the babies' general appearance, smile, personality, hy-gine, hy-gine, and their response to the judges. A total of 54 royalty were selected. select-ed. County Fair selects top 1 5 parade entries The Uintah County Fair parade was on Wednesday, August II. With approximately 100 entries, the committee selected 15 best overall entries. The most impressive was the Uintah High School Soccer team. The best use of theme went to the 4-H float The most elaborate was the U-BetUintah County Queens float. The most unique was the Northern Ute Tribe Royalty float The entries with outstanding music were from Sugar Plum, the Uintah Community Band, and the Myton Youth Dancers. The best horse entry en-try was the Massey horse. The best Boy Scouts march down Main Street with the American flags in order or-der of the present flag all the way to the very first flag of America.
