In the future tribal trib-al members will be given a card so they pay no state taxes and non-tribal members pay the normal gas taxes. Commissioner Lorin Merrcll said he felt better about the project knowing that the tribe offered to buy out the other businesses. Merrell said he wanted it on record that the tribe requested the delay of 6500 East and widening of the Ft. Duchesne road in its place. Adams said the tribe will have funds for the 6500 East road by September of 1 999. "We need to join together on the construction of many of the roads on the west side," Adams said. "The tribe BIA can fund many of them." Commissioners agreed to widen the road before the construction of the grocery store so that residents have time to get accustomed to the changes. Also, commissioners agreed to pay the $8,000 engineering bill on the road widening. 53-year-old retired circus elephant meets the Wooly Mammoth at Dinosaur Gardens.
