Show 22 Vernal Express Wednesday, May 22, 1996 Track continued from page 18 said. The only other individual placer for the boy's team was Eros Arocho in the high jump. Eros placed sixth with a jump of 6' 1. For the girls, as their total points indicated, it was a case of slim pickings. pick-ings. Anna Glenn recorded the best finish for the team when she placed fourth in the long jump with a 164" effort. Only two other individuals scored points. Marci Christensen placed eighth in the 400 while Yvonne Allen also took an eighth in the shot put. All of the other team points came in the relays. The 4 X 100 had the best showing in that category with a fifth place finish. The medley relay team finished eighth as did the 4 X 400 relay team. "I don't want to say I was disappointed, disap-pointed, because I'm sure all the kids did their best. We just expected a little different results from the team. The order of events and the strong wind had a definite impact on the outcome and those are factors fac-tors we really have no control over," Galley said, "plus some of the other athletes had stronger than expected performances. Most of our kids were close to their season bests, so it was as much a matter of the other teams stepping up than us doing poorly." This newspaper ad will tell your how effective newspaper ads can be for your business. Because every week adults go one-on-one with a newspaper. Just exactly like you're doing right now. At this very moment, you're reading and enjoying while you get information and entertainment. Your concentration and . attention are focused on this ad. And this ad alone. That concentration, very simply, is the power of newspaper. Radio and television wish they could command that kind of attention from their listeners. But, too many times, radio and television commercials become little more that background noise. When people turn to their paper, they turn there with interest. Which means that's where your advertising message needs to be. With all the choices available, it's difficult deciding how best to advertise your business. But everything becomes a little simpler when you remember one rule. ,.,&'tX::::::: 400 M Run Q.T. 1:00.49 Win 58.10 Marci Christensen (8)-1:03.93 4X100 Relay Q.T. 52.72 Win 50.55 Uintah (5)-52.25 B.
