Smith takes Angela Mitchell as bride Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Mitchell of St. George, Utah, announce the marriage of their daughter, Angela, to Russell A. Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. John H. Smith of Vernal. The couple was married Aug. 2, 1986 in St. George, Utah. An open house will be held to honor the couple on Aug. 16 at 1453 East 500 North in Vernal from 6 to 9 p.m. Elder Mitchell McKee Elder McKee returns home Elder Mitchell McKee, son of Jewell and Mark McKee returned today to-day after serving a two year LDS mission in the Costa Rica, Panama area of Central America. The elder served as a zone and district leader during his mission. He will give a mission report Sunday, Aug. 17 at Maeser 1st Ward, 2745 West 1000 North at 2 : 50 p.m. Open dog show to be August 21 Thursday, Aug. 21 is the day set for the Vernal area Basic Obedience Dog Show. The local 4-H dog obedience club, sponsors of the event, are inviting in-viting any dog owners to participate. She is a high school graduate, six years as deputy treasurer, and has specialized training and workshops for treasurer's office. Political background: Committee chairman for the Women's Republican Organization, precinct secretary one year, Republic party delegate (3 terms). Explain the difference between a treasurer, auditor and a county clerk. Treasurer is depository of all county coun-ty monies. Invests county funds, collects col-lects property taxes and apportions monies to taxing entities. Auditor works with county budget, expenditures expen-ditures and truth and taxation notices. Clerk works with district court, commissioners, com-missioners, voter registration and elections. If elected, would you make any changes in the treasurer's office? If so, what would they be? The treasurer's office is regulated by state law and has been run with integrity in-tegrity and dedication. My goal is to continue to do the same by upholding the state laws in their present and future forms. Keith D. McDonald, 41, was born in Burbank, Calif. He has a BS degree in accounting. Political background: I have not held an elected office before, however, in my position as Vernal City's finance director, I worked closely with- the elected officials and with the public. Explain the difference between a treasurer, auditor and county clerk. County Clerk: keeps records that are not normally financially related. Auditor: 1) issues warrants for payment pay-ment to treasurer, 2) gets approval for payment of invoices, 3) maintains accounts ac-counts receivable and accounts payable for the county, 4) audits books of other county departments. Then, based on my experience ex-perience and background in accounting accoun-ting procedures, I would change the procedures, if necessary, to agree with "generally accepted accounting procedures" pro-cedures" as outlined by national and state agencies in the "Uniform Accounting Ac-counting Manual," and "Governmental "Governmen-tal Accounting, Auditing and Financial Reporting." I would work closely with the commissioners com-missioners to provide them with reports necessary for them to make sound decisions. Our schools are facing crisis times.
