CHECK LISTINGS FOR EXACTJIME 1984 Compulog The Utah Endowment for the Humanities Committee approved a $2,517 grant to the Uintah School District for a "Community Docent Program. Davis Elementry will be the host of the pilot program which is scheduled to begin in April or May and continue when school resumes in the fall. The program will consist of a series of lectures lec-tures in art history and an art exhibition exhibi-tion in May. Each month a presentation on a different dif-ferent artist will be presented in every classroom. The lectures will be conducted con-ducted by trained volunteers and will feature many of the "master" artists. Some of the artists to be included in the series are Vincient Van Gogh and Rembrandt. There will be a total of 91 artists studied. In addition to the lecture, lec-ture, prints of the artist's work will be shown and left on display in the classrooms. The curriculum for the lectures will be based on the state guidelines for the program. In addition to the lectures, an exhibition exhibi-tion of Japanese children's art will be on display from Mav 10 until aDDrox-imately aDDrox-imately June 1. The exhibition will include in-clude art work of Japanese children in the city of Matsumoto. In connection with the exhibition; Professor Lennix Tiernen from the University of Utah will present a lecture lec-ture to the schools and public on the history of Asian Art. Volunteers for the lecture series will be trained by Darrel Allington. Mr. Allington is from the Granite School District. He will conduct two workshops for volunteers in March. Troy received the Eagle pledge from District Eagle Commissioner Commis-sioner Clyde Anderson. Also present were Uintah District professional Scouts Mr. and Mrs. Bob Oswald. Special speakers Randy Merrill and Roy Carnes complimented Troy on his many scouting accomplishments. The Order of the Arrow, a special scouting service organization of which Troy is a member, presented the Eagle ceremony in his behalf.
