The colors are no longer bland and subdued. The bedroom is available 24 hours a day as a place to relax, retreat, watch television, televi-sion, work, or even dine from time to time. Decorating these rooms has come a long way from just a bed and dresser. Even the bed is no longer just a place to sleep, nor it is the major piece of furniture in the room. The way you decorate your bedroom and the furniture you put into it will depend de-pend greatly upon how you use it. If the room is to be used only for sleeping, sleep-ing, then you will only need a bed and a system for storing clothing. On the other hand, if it is to be used for relaxing relax-ing or working in, you will need a space large enough to accommodate these activities. If you like to watch television, especially late at night, then pamper yourself and put a set in your bedroom. Is good music a part of your regime for relaxingf Then have a casette recorder-radio in your bedroom. Music need not be only in the "public" areas of your home, Do you ever bring work home and it ends up on the dining room table? A desk or. table in the bedroom will do wonders to help you alternate work with a relaxing atmosphere; as well as a little lit-tle nap on the bed when work becomes too tiring. Do you have a hobby such as needlework, sewing small objects or handicrafts? In your bedroom you don't have to keep putting them up every time you need to go fix a meal or go pick up the kids. The potentials are numerous and certainly beats counting sheep. Sleep is fairly far down the list of uses for the room. However, not so far down that comfort ceases to be important. An ideal main bedroom would be large enough to include a pair of comfortable comfor-table chairs, or a small sofa, also a small table for books and magazines. Not all of us are lucky enough to have the ideal large main bedroom. Then you must use a little ingenuity and put the bed to work as a part-time sofa. This is easily accomplished by adding several throw pillows to help support your back when sitting on it. Aside from being an essential part of the bedroom, little else is standard about today's beds. You can have a dramatic four-poster bed or a coincidental coin-cidental bed that folds out of sight into in-to a closet. In between is a range of sizes and styles that fit any floor space. A guest bedroom should be comfortable comfor-table and inviting. It should be interesting, in-teresting, but not too personal. If space is available, include a dressing table which can double as a desk, as well as a comfortable chair and good lighting. It is foolish to choose furniture for small children's rooms that, will suit only one age. Look for sturdy pieces that will grow with the child. Fabrics should be tough yet cheerful enough to stimulate and satisfy the most color-conscious color-conscious youngster. The flooring should be as soundproof and dirt resistant resis-tant as it is possible to find. Adolescents should have rooms of their own on which to impose their developing tastes. Their rooms should reflect their world and preferences. Let them help you make decisions about their room. Their room should include a bed, a desk, good lighting, shelves for books and other possessions posses-sions and good storage. , .1 Are Ton Looking For a ABA Landmark Missionary Baptist Church?
