The Utes were defeated by Moun tain View, but they recovered with a 38 to 6 triumph over Rangely, Saturday. Uintah High School's sophomore team improved its record to 4 wins and 1 loss when they thumped Rangely's junior varsity team, 38 to 6, Saturday in Rangely. ITie Utes w ill battle Timp-view Timp-view on the road, Thursday in Provo. Quarterback Kyle White connected with Todd Mulville on a 25 yard touchdown pass to give Uintah a 6-0 lead and Jon Nash scored a touchdown in the second quarter on a 40 yard run for a 12-0 lead. Kyle White scored a touchdown in the third quarter for the Uintah Utes on a five yard quarterback sneak. Nash scored two touchdowns in the third quarter on runs of five and ten yards to give Uintah a 30 to 0 advantage. Rangely scored a touchdown and then Nash returned the kickoff 70 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter. Dee Steinfeld scored a two-point two-point conversion to make the final score: Uintah, 38 and Rangely, 6. "Everyone on the whole Uintah squad got to play in the game. They got to play at least one full quarter. Larry Hanson did an outstanding job at fullback and Nash scored four touchdowns. Quarterback, Kyle White threw the ball real well. He hit Mulville on a pass for a touchdown and . hit Steinfeld on-a 15 yard pass," stated Uintah sophomore coach, Ed Browning. Offensive starters on the Uintah sophomore team in the game against Rangely, Saturday, were: Larry Hanson, Han-son, fullback; Jon Nash, tailback; Kyle White, quarterback; Clark Barker, right tackle; Greg Jaramillo, right guard; Corey Mason, left tackle; Shane Rasmussen, left guard; Todd White, center; Todd Mulville, split end; Valton Mortenson, Mitch Hall, tight ends; Dee Steinfeld, wing back' Richard Rust saw a lot of action at tailback. "Rangely made only four downs against our first string defense," remarked Browning. "Our line did real well." Defensive starters for the Uintah Utes in the game with Rangely were: Mark Larsen, nose guard; Todd White, defensive tackle; Shayne Price, defensive tackle; Brett Durrant, Clark barker, defensive ends; Kenny Car-mickle, Car-mickle, Greg Jaramillo, linebackers; Lance Siddoway, cornerback; Dee Steinfeld, cornerback; Todd Mulville, safety; Richard Rust, safety.
