Local Park City news every Wednesday and Saturday An unidentified California man died Saturday after collapsing on a Park City Transit bus, according to the Summit County Sheriff's Office. The report states the man, from Oakland, boarded the bus near Center and Highland Drive with two of his friends and collapsed shortly after. Medical personnel unsuccessfully attempted life-saving measures after removing him from the bus, but he was later pronounced deceased at the scene. The Oakland Coroner's Office was contacted to notify the man's wife. An investigation is ongoing, but his death is not considered suspicious, according to Sgt. Ron Bridge. According to the Summit County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to numerous other calls between Tuesday, Jan. 19, and Monday, Jan. 25, including two hit-and-runs: Monday, Jan. 25 Deputies responded to a report from a Basin-area woman that a man had taken several tools without her permission. The man said it was a misunderstanding and he would return the tools. Dispatch received a report that several Basin-area juveniles were missing. They were located in the Salt Lake area and released to their parents. Deputies responded to a burglary at a cabin near the Mirror Lake Highway. Sunday, Jan. 24 Two Kimball Junction-area employees were arguing when one of the women hit the other in the face. She was cited and released. A man reported that his silver 2015 Jeep Wrangler was stolen from the parking lot of a Basin-area hotel. An investigation is ongoing. Dispatch received a report from a woman that her car was hit while it was parked in front of her Basin-area home. Saturday, Jan. 23 Dispatch received a report of a sexual assault from a South Summit juvenile. The case will be forwarded to the county attorney's office. Deputies responded to a domestic violence situation at a North Summit home. No citations were issued and the case will be forwarded to the county attorney's office. Deputies received a report that a woman hit another vehicle and then left the scene of the accident. Wasatch County law officers arrested her and transported her to the Summit County Jail. Friday, Jan. 22 A man was arrested after his vehicle registration indicated he had an active warrant. A blue backpack and a laptop computer were found along a North Summit trail. The mail that was found in the backpack belonged to a suspect from Whiteriver, Ariz., who has an active warrant. Dispatch received a report from an employee at a Kimball Junction-area business that a vehicle was blocking the entrance to the business. The vehicle was reported stolen out of Salt Lake City. An employee described the suspect as a white male, approximately 5'5", wearing tan Carhartt bibs and a tan Carhartt jacket. The suspect reportedly had two black eyes and cuts on his face. He has not been located. Dispatch received a report from a woman who left her skis at a Basin-area restaurant and accidentally grabbed another pair. An investigation is ongoing. Thursday, Jan. 21 A woman reported two cell phones were stolen from her car while it was parked in front of her North Summit home. Dispatch received a report about a fraud from a Basinarea man. Deputies responded to a trespassing situation at a Kimball Junction-area business and arrested a man. Deputies stopped a car on State Road 32 for several traffic violations. The driver was arrested for driving under the influence and having an open container. Deputies stopped a car on State Road 248 for speeding and arrested the driver for an active warrant. He was transported to Wasatch County. Wednesday, Jan. 20 Dispatch received a report from a North Summit man that several items had been stolen out of his unlocked vehicle. An investigation is ongoing. Dispatch received a report from a South Summit woman claiming someone had stolen her prescription medication. Deputies determined the report was false. Tuesday, Jan. 19 Deputies responded to a domestic violence situation at a Basin-area home and arrested a man for intoxication and possession of drug paraphernalia. Deputies stopped a car in North Summit for a taillight violation and issued the driver a citation for possession of marijuana and paraphernalia. Deputies stopped a car that was traveling eastbound on Interstate 80 for not having insurance. Deputies arrested the driver after finding paraphernalia and a gun in the car. He was transported to the Summit County Jail and preliminarily charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, restricted person in possession of a dangerous weapon and insurance violation. Two electric scooters were reported stolen from a Kimball Junction-area apartment complex. An investigation is ongoing. A man reported his wakeboard was missing from a North Summit storage unit.
