Charles was born in Park City, Utah, on December 28, 1905 to Thomas Reuben Grose, and Mary Elizabeth Brockway Grose. Charles attended Park City High School and played on the high school football and basketball teams. He graduated from Park City High School on May 16,1924. Charles married Eva Lena Zcnger on June 5, 1929 in the Salt Lake Temple. He was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served as counselor in the bishopric and as ward clerk for 43 years in the Park City Ward. Charles worked for the Silver King Mill, and later the United Park City mines for 43 years. He enjoyed fishing in the Uintah Mountains and deer hunting on the Strawberry. He was active in the Park City Senior Citizens, serving as treasurer and president for several years. He drove the senior citizens bus until he turned 90 years of age, when prudence said it was time to turn the job over to a younger driver. He is survived by his twq sons, Dee L. (Carolyn), and Max K. (Diane); eijght grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren^ He is preceded in death by his wife, one brother, and three sisters. The family wou|f) like to express their thanks and appreciation to Access Home Care Hospice (Georgene Heare, Kathy Wilde, Allison Kubic) for the loving care they gave to Charles the last three months of his life, and to the Park City Police Department, as well as to neighbors and friends who assisted Charles. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, December 30, 2008 in the Park City LDS Ward Church, 2300 Monitor Drive, Park City, Utah. Friends may call on Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the LDS Church, and on Tuesday from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Midway Cemetery at 500 South 730 West, Midway. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the LDS Missionary Fund, the LDS Humanitarian Fund or a charity of choice. \ Dennis Patrick Monahan, long time Park City resident, loving husband and devoted father died suddenly and unexpectedly in Park City on Wednesday, December 24, 2008. Dennis was born on October 8, 1948 in Pasadena, Calif. The son of an Air Force pilot, he grew up in California, Alaska. Florida, New Mexico and upstate New York. Dennis served in the U.S. Army before attending Western State College in Gunnison, Colo. After college, Dennis worked in sales and account management for several medical laboratory companies rising to the position of Vice President, National Contracts for ARUP. a well known Utah-based national laboratory reference company. Dennis had a passion for outdoor sports, especially skiing and road bicycling. He was well known on the slopes of Park City ski areas, always cheerful and willing to help new skiers and aipicn' ture of grace and fluidity as he enjoyed the slopes. An avid bicyclist. Dennis logged in countless miles of riding throughout his beloved Utah mountains as well as the many challenging road riding areas in Europe. Dennis was probably best known and will be most missed for his warm smile, friendliness and compassion for others. Family, friends, colleagues, clients and total strangers all were beneficiaries of his engaging personality, thoughtfulness and willingness to help. Dennis is survived by his wife Susan Monahan, owner of Interiors in Park City; his 15 year-old son Matt Monahan, a student al Park City High School; and his brother Mike Monahan of Denver, Colo. An open memorial reception will held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 28 at the Park City Hotel, 2001 Park City Ave., Park City.
