Police officers regularly patrol for speeders and drivers violating other traffic laws, and Parkites generally support the efforts. Parkites for years have complained about speeders. Other incidents reported to the Police Department last week included: On Sunday, June 22 at 4:17 a.m., someone called the Police Department from Snow's Lane reporting gunshots. The person said there were four or five of the sounds at about 4 a.m. Public police logs do not provide details, and it is unclear from the logs whether officers discovered the source of the sounds. At 1:35 a.m., someone called the Police Department from Woodside Avenue telling dispatchers a motorcycle driver popped a wheelie while driving up Main Street. The driver had someone on the back of the motorcycle, the police were told. A bouncer at a nightclub on Main Street informed the police of a person with fake identification at 12:30 a.m. The person was gone by the time an officer arrived, but the fake ID had been confiscated. On Saturday, June 21 at 10:33 p.m., the police were called from Snow's Lane, where a band was reportedly playing loudly. Public on the 1700 block of Park Avenue. Public police logs do not provide details. The police were called to Fairway Hills Court at 12:14 p.m., when a man, apparently a teenager, was seen carrying a black-colored object, possibly a crowbar. The police were told the man was seen behind a house. People who live inside were out of town, the police were told. On Thursday, June 19 at 12:51 p.m., someone reported a blue Honda Civic stolen on lower Iron 'Horse Loop. At 10:46 a.m., a driver and a bicyclist collided on the 2400 block of Holiday Ranch Loop Road. Nobody was injured, the police said. A hot-air balloon reportedly wasflyinglow above Silver Cloud Drive at 7:59 a.m. On Wednesday, July 18 at 8:53 a.m., someone reported a hot-air balloon appeared to be in trouble near Quinn's Junction. Police officers, though, did not find the balloon. On Tuesday, July 17 at 6:55 a.m., a driver told the police he hit a deer on the 1900 block of Sidewinder Drive. The deer ran away, the police said. On Monday, July 16 at 2:01 p.m., the police received a complaint that people in three parked cars might be dealing narcotics on the 1600 block of Short Line Road. The Police Department in the spring and early summer has been aggressively enforcing speed limits, with officers posted on busy streets like S.R. 224 and lesser-traveled roads in the city's interior. Some of the drivers pulled over last week included: • On Saturday, June 21 at 2:31 p.m., a driver was stopped at the Deer Valley Drive-Short Line Road intersection. The person was caught at 59 mph on a stretch of road where the speed limit is 40 mph. Tfre police wrote the driver a ticket. • On Saturday, June 21 at 12:01 p.m., an officer stopped a driver pegged at 60 mph in a 40 mph zone at the Deer Valley Drive-Park Avenue intersection. • On Saturday, June 21 at 10:35 a.m., an officer stopped a driver, saying the person was driving 58 mph in a 40 mph zone. The traffic stop was on Bonanza Drive, but the officer apparently observed the person on a nearby street like Reams Boulevard. • On Saturday, June 21 at 10:11 a.m., a driver was caught at 56 mph in a 40 mph zone at the Deer Valley Drive-Short Line police records do not provide details. At 8:15 p.m., the police received a call from Morning Star Court, where a loud party was reported. The caller told the police it sounded as if a disc jockey was playing at the party. A runner complained of suffering from heat exhaustion at 4:40 p.m. at a Park City medical clinic A few minutes earlier, another runner complained he was suffering from dehydration on the Guardsman Connection Road. The man is 37 years old, but public police logs do not indicate where he is from. The police were told of what a person described as a reckless driver on Sidewinder Drive at 2:30 p.m. The person drove a white-colored Land Rover, and someone told the police the driver did not stop at several stop signs, swerved and was speeding. At 2:09 p.m., a police officer warned a driver for driving with the car doors open. The driver was stopped at the Deer Valley Drive-Sullivan Road intersection. Someone apparently happy with the Police Department brought officers at the police station two boxes of cupcakes at 12:23 p.m. The person said officers could eat them or take them to the Peace House, a shelter for domestic-violence victims, according to department logs.
