Detectives say he was likely shot with a pellet gun but they have no substantial leads or evidence in the case. By PATRICK PARKINSON Of the Record staff South Summit resident Buz Berg is an aspiring rapper but was having a difficult time Monday reciting his rhymes. Deputies are investigating whether the 23-year-old man was shot Aug. 6 on S.R. 248 in a bizarre incident near Kamas. Though he was still having a difficult time breathing this week Berg said he felt much better. "I had a million scenarios going through my head," Berg said about what may have occurred that morning, adding that he considered a bee sting or perhaps a rock from a passing automobile. "Once I got hit, my mind went blank." Detectives say Berg was shot in the back at around 10:30 a.m. while retrieving his mail. "We just don't know exactly what happened," said Ellen Berg, the victim's mother. "Looking at the x-ray and everything, it's a bullet." The man stopped to check the mail while pulling out of his driveway Friday morning and was struck while he was outside of the vehicle with his back turned to the highway.
