Show DwightJ. Williams BOUNTIFUL Dwight James Williams, age 71, passed away Monday, Mon-day, Feb. 25, 1991 in a Salt Lake hospital after a battle with heart disease. Born Dec. 14, 1919, Paradise, Utah, to Thomas Ellis and Bessie James Williams. He graduated from Weber College, Col-lege, then the University Uni-versity of Utah, with a B.A. in English and M.A. in educational ad- Of ""i - UN J ministration. He married Janet Jar-dine Jar-dine April 27, 1942 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He demonstrated excellence as a military flying instructor and combat pilot, was awarded Distinguished Flying Fly-ing Cross, Air Medal, Purple Heart, etc. Served in North Africa and Sicily during World War II. Retired from Federal Aviation Agency as air-route traffic controller and airways operations opera-tions specialist, where he was well respected by his peers. Served in LDS Church as bishop, bishop's counselor, high councilman, and various other positions, and loved the people whom he served. He served serv-ed a mission with his wife to California Califor-nia Oakland Visitors Center 1979-1981. 1979-1981. Avid reader, world traveler, eager to leam and improve himself. Survivors include his wife, Janet; sons, Dwight B. (Nan) and Mark J. (Shauna) of Salt Lake City; daughters, Jean Watkins, Salt Lake City; and Barbara Peck (Kim), Sacramento, Calif. Also mother, Bessie J. Williams, Ogden; brother LaMont; sisters, Elizabeth Crawford and Lucile Layne. Preceded in death by father, sister Ruth Kleine, and granddaughter Kellie Watkins. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sat-urday, March 2, at 1 p.m. in the Bountiful Boun-tiful 39th Ward chapel, 1500 S. 600 E. Friends may call at the church 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. prior to the services. Interment in the Bountiful City Cemetery. Funeral directors, Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary. |
