Show Drug-free assembly held MPJH part of the program. We also heard music from M.C. Hammer, Young M.C., Van Halen and Phil Collins. The assembly was a hit with the students of Mueller Park, and I encourage en-courage schools to hold the same assembly. A part of the film which caught the attention of the students showed a boy on the beach throwing stranded strand-ed star fish back in the ocean that had been washed ashore. A girl By TOM BRAMBLE Student Reporter Mueller Park Jr. High On Monday, Jan. 7, a drug-free assembly was held at Mueller Park Junior High. The Pepsi Cola Co. and Taco Bell were the sponsors. The assembly keyed on being drug-free and helping people who are not. A film featuring M.C. Hammer, Young M.C., Sammy Hagar and Magic Johnson was a big walked up to him with a smart-aleck smart-aleck look on her face and asked, "Why are you doing that? There are thousands of them. You really think it's going to make a difference?" differ-ence?" The boy then said sincerely as he held up a star fish, "It will to this one." As the students cheered they realized real-ized that what they had just seen was a perfect example of what they could do to help someone else. |
