Show George A. . Wensel r George A. Wensel, age 81, passed away Jan. 7, 1991, at his home in Bountiful. He was born Dec. 9, 1909 in Salt Lake City to Walter G. and Annie Gustaveson Wensel. Because his mother died due to childbirth, George was raised by his grandparents, grand-parents, Charles John and Hannah Gustaveson. He married Louise i Burton July 21, 1934 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Having grown up in the Forest Dale area, George attended LDS High School. He was employed for 15 years with Zellerbach Paper Co.; worked for the U.S. Army Transportation Transpor-tation during WW II; was a superintendent with Sterling Transportation; was general claims agent with Inland Freight Lines; was regional claims agent with Ringsby Truck Lines; retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1979. He was active in the LDS Church, having held many secretarial and clerical positions in various wards in : Salt Lake City, Idaho Falls, Idaho and i Bountiful. Until recently, he was an : active high priest in the Bountiful 40th Ward, serving as a home : teaching district leader. - He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Louise, of Bountiful; sons, G. Kent and his wife Karen, Riverside, Calif.; Jeffery and his wife Barbara, Bountiful; grandchildren, Carole Powers, David Wensel and Debi Wensel, Bountiful; Alan Wensel, Salt Lake City; LaRue Johnson, Pocatello, Idaho; Paul, Amy and Robert Wensel Riverside, Calif; Elder Mark Wensel serving in the Alaska Anchorage mission; mis-sion; Elder Gary Wensel, serving in the Ireland Dublin mission; two great-grandsons, great-grandsons, Bobby and Michael ' Powers, Bountiful. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers. Funeral services were held Jan. 10 at the Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary, Mor-tuary, with interment in the Bountiful City Cemetery. |
