Show Tragic accidents claimed lives of area children By JAMS STUART SYRACUSE --A tragic house fire took the life of a two-year-old boy Sunday, March 5. Randy Painter was dead at the scene of smoke inhalation. in-halation. The boy's mother and his four-year-old syster were able to escape from the burning home. Investigation In-vestigation indicated that the fire was started by the children playing with matches or a cigarette lighter. The fire started in the living room sofa. FARMINGTON--A six-year-old boy was fatally injured at Lagoon amusement park, Sunday, April 30. Ryan Beckstead, Bountiful, died after being struck by "Puff, the Little Fire Dragon," a child's ride at the park. B OUNTIFUL A tragic accident took the life of an 11-year-old Bountiful Boun-tiful boy on Thursday, July 27. Kit Colton died from injuries sustained in a biketruck accident at 1150 S. 500 W. in Bountiful. According to one witness, paramedics made heroic attempts to save the child. They worked at least one-half hour to stabilize him. BOUNTIFUL-Five-year-oId Christi Steuart and her eight-year-old sister Kimberly, were struck by a car Tues., Sept. 12, as they crossed cross-ed 1800 S. 900 E. on their way to school at Valley View Elementary. Both children were airlifted to Primary Children's Medical Center. Christi died Wednesday from injuries in-juries suffered in the accident. Kimberly was released from the hospital suffering bruises and lacerations. FARMINGTON-The second fatal accident in a six-week period claimed the life of another Lagoon patron. Thirteen -year-old Kilee King of Bountiful died after a fall from the roller coaster ride at Lagoon amusement park, The accident acci-dent occurred at 5:35 p.m. on June 9. |
