Show Bohlinq promoted f " 1 I i " ; . Verl R. Topham, executive vice president of Utah Power & Light, will become president and chief executive ex-ecutive officer of the utility on Feb. 1. He will succeed Frank N. Davis, who retires on that date to end a 41-year 41-year career with UP&L. Since August 1989 Mr. Davis has served as chairman of the Utah Power Board. He will continue to serve in that capacity. Replacing Mr. Topham as the senior officer responsible for UP&L's customer operations is Bountiful resident John A. Bohling, who was promoted to senior vice president. UP&L serves some 535,000 customers in Utah, southeastern Idaho and southwestern Wyoming. The appointments were announced announc-ed Wednesday following a meeting of the Utah Power Board in Salt Lake City. Mr. Bohling also assumes his new responsibilities on Feb. 1. Mr. Bohling, who was elected vice president earlier this year, joined join-ed UP&L in 1962 and subsequently served in a variety of engineering and managerial positions. He was named manager of the Salt Lake Division in 1983 and appointed head of UP&L's Utah utilities operations in 1985. He holds a bachelor's degree in JOHN BOHLING electrical engineering from the University of Utah and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Delaware. Mr. Bohling served in the U.S. Navy as director of the electrical engineering department at the Navy 's Nuclear Power School, Bainbridge, Maryland, where he taught in electrical engineering, thermodynamics and plant-mechanical plant-mechanical theory. |
