Show r h Braves win soph meet (51.63), Jamie Lovell won the 800 meters (2:40.84), Anderson came back to win the 200 meters (25.57), with Emily Kilgore sixth; Lovell placed third and Stacy Haraldsen fourth in the 3200 meters; Kilgore took second in the high jump, and Marci Thomas was third in the long jump and fifth in the javelin. Also placing were the 400 relay team, first, with Trinnaman, Gerber, Anderson and Kilgore; the medley relay team of Thomas, Kilgore, Haraldsen and Gerber, third; and the 1600 relay team of Trinnaman, Anderson, Kilgore and Gerber. Placing for the Lady Braves of Bountiful were Adrianna Rupp, sixth in the 300 meter hurdles; and Heidi Westergard, first in the discus (85-11) and fourth in the 800 meters. By TOM HARALDSEN ; Clipper Correspondent TOOELE Bountiful High's boys edged Woods Cross 112-110 for top honors in the Region Six sophomore track and field meet held in Tooele. The Lady Wildcats of Woods Cross won the girls' competition, easily outdistancing j second place Tooele 100-78. It was a gutsy win for the Braves, ; who were led by Mike Gates with a ' first in the long jump (19-7) and se- I cond in the high jump (5-10), where 1 he finished just behind teammate Thad Weiland. Weiland also took second in the 1 1 0 meter hurdles. Other top finishers for the Braves , included Wally Nelson, first in the 100 meters (11.44); Lincoln Madauld, second in pole vault; Adam Becker, third in pole vault; Ryan Dryer, third in the 800 meters j j f ww tmrnwiwid and 3200 meters, and second in the 1600 meters; Wally Nelson, fourth in the 400 meters and third in the ZOO meters; Josh Ferguson, fifth in die 400 meters; Ryan Alberts on, 4th n the shot put; and Nate Jones, ourth in the 3200 meters. For Woods Cross, Brad Arbon :ook third and Allen McNeil fourth n the 100 hurdles; Andrew Scivally von the 1600 in a time of 4:57.18, with teammate Ryan Borrowman sixth; Jeremy Eggett won the 400 meters (53.8), John Hall took first and McNeil second in the 300 lurdles (winning time was 42.77), Ooug Marx captured the 800 meters ;2:09.42), with Nathan Morris iixth; Borrowman took sixth in the 200 meters; the tandem of Paul latch, Tyler Allred and Gavin VIonsen went third-fourth-fifth in he high jump; Arbon was third in he shot, and Allred placed sixth in he long jump. Among the sophomore ladies, Natalie Anderson took second in he 100 meters, with Melissa Trin-laman Trin-laman sixth; Trinnaman won the K)0 meters (1:04.89); Jenny Gerber captured the 300 meter hurdles |
