Show $237,000 improvements listed By TOM HARALDSEN Clipper Correspondent CENTERVTLLE The city's culinary waterline projects for 1993 include $237,000 worth of improvements im-provements as part of CentervUle's master plan. City Council recently revised the list of projects for this summer, adding an 8-inch PVC extension along the Frontage Road at a cost of $29,000 and deleting a previously planned 6-inch line along Center Street from 400 to 600 East. Most costly of the improvements planned is a six-inch six-inch line along 700 East from 300 to 400 South and along 300 South from 600 East to Canyon Way. Cost is estimated at $54,000. Also planned is a $52,000 crossing cross-ing under 1-15. Among other projects are the 600 South waterline from 300 to 400 East at $23,000; replacement of fire hydrants and laterals in North Centerville for $22,000, the Island View Waterline Island View Reservoir line at $14,000, lateral replacement in south Centerville at a cost of $20,000, plus designs for the 1993 projects and update of the master plan for $23,000, In one related item of business, the council has also adopted a water conservation proclamation for 1992. Without imposing a penalty, the measure "strongly urges" all residents of Centerville to avoid watering during peak hours of evaporation, or, in other words, to avoid watering between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., as well as to avoid irrigating during those times. Should the drought continue into late spring, it is possible that more forceful regulations could be levied by Centerville and other communities in the area. |
