Show Warrant plan mulled FARMINGTON If warrants war-rants are not being served, a large portion of court revenue is not being be-ing collected. According to Chief of Police Jeff Jacobsen, that is the situation as it now stands. The police chief explained that officers have not been able to aggressively ag-gressively serve warrants due to working a lot of shift coverage and some overtime. Jacobsen went before the Farmington Farm-ington City Council with a proposed propos-ed resolution to the problem. He r suggested that the serving of warrants war-rants and bailiff service could be contracted out. "Serving warrants and bailiff service are productive but time-consuming," time-consuming," explained Jacobsen. He also stated that the number of warrants that could be served would more than compensate for any cost incurred. 4 'It is a cost effective move that will generate court revenue," he continued. In a unanimous action, the Farmington City Council agreed to accept in concept the proposal. |
