Show y West Bountiful works on water rates WEST BOUNTIFUL The City Council may soon implement a water advisory ad-visory committee at the suggestion of Mayor Carl Johnson. The suggestion came as part of the council's strategy to determine new water rates for residents both within and just outside the city limits. "As a resident, I think this is good," Council woman Vicki Stock said. "When you know the whole picture, you understand it a little more.' The water advisory committee will be composed of five to seven members of the community representing different geographic areas, backgrounds and interests inter-ests in the community. Individuals include lawyers and others with experience in public utilities. The committee will be responsible for sifting through the paperwork, Johnson said. Its job will include recommending whether or not the city should adopt and bond for the preliminary water master plan of West Bountiful City and reviewing review-ing and making recommendations for changes to the culinary water sales fee schedule. The committee will also be responsible for recommending other funding fun-ding sources for priority water projects. The council hopes to appoint the committee com-mittee within the next two weeks. |
