Show Great Books training to be offered in Farmington The Great Books Foundation, a Chicago-based nonprofit educational educa-tional organization, announced that registrations are being accepted for Thursday and Friday, Jan. 11 and 12, 9-3 at Davis County schools. The training course-one of 700 the Foundation offers annually across the country prepares teachers, volunteers, librarians, and school administrators to lead Junior Great Books reading and discussion groups. The course is also open to those who plan to lead Adult Great Books groups in their communities. The Junior Great Books program, available for grades two through 12, is designed to teach students how to interpret what they read. Students learn how to think independently in-dependently about literature, to articulate ar-ticulate ideas about its meaning, and to enrich their ideas through discussion. discus-sion.
