Show Assertive - training 7 courses -i .. Two Assertive Training courses, one for teens and one for adults, will begin in Sept, sponsored by Davis County Mental Health. The eight-week course helps people ac- ; quire more self-respect and control-over control-over their lives without denying the rights and feelings of others. The ability to express oneself and communicate com-municate in a more direct and open way will be facilitated through in- -struction and practice in . such specific skills as coping with criticism, refusing requests, making-requests, making-requests, handling anger and anxiety, anxi-ety, and giving and receiving compliments. com-pliments. The teen class will begin on Thursday, September 14, from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. and will be taught by Jill Coleman. The adult class will also begin on Sept 14 and will run from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. It will be taught by Connie Chatlin. Both classes will be held at the Bountiful Center at 470 East Medical Dr. There is a $32 registration fee. Enrollment is limited; preregistra-tion preregistra-tion and payment are required.
