Show Postmaster fired: charges pending BOUNTTFUL-Postmastcr Nolan Bin was relieved of his duties August 22, and according to postal authorities, a criminal investigation is being conducted. Pierce Mcintosh, inspector in charge for the intermountain postal department, said the dismissal came during a regularly scheduled audit of the Bountiful post office. "I cannot comment on the specifics. This was an unusual situation. We have an ongoing criminal investigation investiga-tion as a result of conditions found in the audit," said Mr. Mcintosh. Mr. Bin has served as the Boun tiful post master since 1978, and has been with the post office for ap- . . . , proximately 23 years. The investigation will 'continue for several weeks, and according to -Mr. Mcintosh, criminal charges may be filed. "One of the functions . of audits is to investigate employees suspected of wrongdoing," he said. Jim Chatlin, former Farmington post master, has been appointed officer-in-charge at the Bountiful post office. His position in Farmington Farm-ington is being filled by post mistress, Kathie McSparren. |
