Show City pursues pumps as part of project CENTERVILLE-The city has decided to pursue construction of a pump station as part of the Ricks Creek Reservoir Project Construction on the reservoir itself is well underway in the foothills east of the city. City council coun-cil agreed with a recommendation from city engineer Fred Campbell to solicit bids and get State Board of Water approval for the project, which will cost about $53,000. The current reservoir project is about $50,000 under budget, and state Water Resources has indicated to the city a willingness to extend the project to include a booster station. In two other business items related to public works, council approved ap-proved purchase of a new dump truck and miscellaneous equipment at a cost of $54,929. The purchase means the city will have four show pbws this winter, not just the three as in years past. Council also approved nearly $40,000 in street slurry sealing projects, pro-jects, which will entail sealing on 19 streets in the city. The largest projects include 200 East from 400 South to 300 North, 850 East from 100 to 700 South, and Pages Lane from Main to 400 East. |
