(See related newsclip. , By JANIS STUART FARMINGTON-The recent ride-related deaths at Lagoon . amusement park are not the first two in the park's 102-year history. Widely publicized, separate tragic ; accidents have claimed the lives of two Davis County youths during 1989. On April 30, a 6-year-old Bountiful boy died while riding "Puff the Little Fire Dragon." f Most recently, on June 9, a 13-year-old Bountiful girl fell to her death while riding the roller coaster. However, the first fatality was rediscovered re-discovered when Dick Andrew, spokesman for the park, received a call from a lady on June 11 who told him that oral family tradition claimed claim-ed that a relative of hers had died after a fall from the roller coaster at Lagoon. Mr. Andrew began an investigation in-vestigation which went from the caller's cousin to a cousin's mother and so forth. Mr. Andrew found mat a 21-year-old Ogden man, named Ernest Henry Howe, had died after falling from the roller coaster on August 20, 1934.
