Show Power rates dropping again Utah Power and Light's prices arc continuing to head down. - On Monday the company asked -for a $13 million rate decrease for; its Utah customers, an across-the-board reduction of two percent It is the fifth rate reduction since January Jan-uary 1988. During the 14-month span the company has trimmed its prices by about $53 million a year-roughly year-roughly eight percent-for cus- -tomers inUtah. This latest filing is the first to re-suk re-suk from the company's recent merger with PacifiCorp. Additional price decreases of three to eight percent will occur over the next four years, reflecting the efficiencies efficien-cies the merger will provide. That merger took place Jan. 9. 'The company has asked the Public Service Commission that the lower rates go into effect March 10, or 60 days after the official merger date. |
