Show UP '-: P.. . . Us. i ' vl 1 . . j Frosh Coach Dale Johnson-.. optimistic but concerned. frosh action starts on weekend Utah's freshmen footballers get their first game action of the season Friday as they take on Snow College. Game time is 2 p.m. in Robert L Rice Stadium. New frosh head coach Dale Johnson is optimistic about the Frosh team and is looking forward to seeing them under fire for the first time. He has one problem, howewer, and that is that he has six good offensive backs and can't determine whom to start; some problem, there are many coaches around who wish they had the same kind of a problem. Source of the problem are quarterbacks Steve Kincanon and Richard Lancaster; fullbacks Roosevelt Hutchins and John Huddlestop; and runningbacks Bob Ladouceur and Carl Owens. Johnson will have to pick three to start, but plans on playing them all; and says there won't be any difference dif-ference between the two set of backs. On defense, the frosh look strong with several local players expected to play well. Middle linebacker Dave O'Bagy and defensive backs Paul Thiriot and Brad Duckworth are expected to be standouts in the defense. Snow fields an experienced team and this week's game will be their fifth compared to Utah's first. Johnson feels that his biggest concern will be to minimize the team's mistakes. |
