Show U acquaintance Candidates take tot On Tuesday October 2nd, a special luncheon was held in the Union on behalf of the Utah state legislative candidates. The Associated As-sociated Students of the University of Utah (ASUU) Legislative Relations Rela-tions Committee, Public Awareness Council, and University of Utah Alumni Association hosted the Union Ballroom luncheon to enable state legislative candidates an opportunity op-portunity to learn more about the University. Fifty candidates participated in the program along with twenty-five students acting as tour guides. ASUU Public Affairs Board member mem-ber and Legislative Relations Chairman Chair-man Rick Evans welcomed the candidates. "We are excited about this opportunity to get to know you. We hope that you may become more aware of what the University is, what is going on here, and especially espe-cially what the feeling of the students stu-dents on campus really are." University President Alfred C. Emery and ASUU President Duane Moss addressed the luncheon. President Pre-sident Emery spoke to the candidates candi-dates in behalf of the entire University, Univer-sity, stressing the effort that University Univer-sity students themselves were directly dir-ectly responsible for the program to better inform the legislative candidates can-didates about the University.
